I've bought this wash machine 5 years ago it started being noisy. So I decided to have look in drum if the bearing has gone. Everything was fine until trying to separate drum but NO CHANCE BECAUSE IT WAS WELDED NOT LIKE THE OTHER MACHINES I DONT KNOW WHAT THE ENGINEERS WERE THINKING WHEN THEY BUILDING IT. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE

As I used to be a repair engineer, I agreed to replace the bearings on a friends machine. I purchased the bearings no problem and then took the machine apart and to my surprise found that it was a welded drum! This whole drum assembly would cost over £150.00 so with labour would make this an un-economicle job and the machine was only three years old! What a waste of time.

Purchased this machine about 3 years ago and it was ok - nothing amazing but functioning. Bought in a hurry as previous one broke down. Very noisy spin and extremely long cycle. Put load on as I was going to bed...as I often do.... and got a really bad burning smell, Switched machine off mid cycle as a precautionary measure. Switched it on again in morning where it completed the cycle. Put another load on and midway through it cut out. Examined all external electrics and all normal, but it would come to life momentarily as the door was shut. Removed top and found an electric component completely burned out. I think I may have had a lucky escape the previous night. Called Hotpoint Customer services who was totally unperturbed by this and as it was over 1 year old felt that their responsibility was totally diminished and it was my problem. They would, however send out a service repair person at a cost of £110. This was reduced to £79 when I reminded them of the Beko death incident and the national press. Still awaiting a resolve on this and their 'call-back within 4 working hours'! Most worrying and disappointed by their lack of responsibility.

Bought this machine about 3 years ago and had 2 replacements before it was even installed due to damage.
The door seal started leaking, replaced under warranty, wouldnt spin serviced under warranty.
Internal water leak fix myself another fault developed, cant remember what, fix by local engineer. Fault code f05 jammed pump fixed myself. Final straw wont complete spin cycle, wife tearing her hair out replaced it with a Beko, and she's glad to see the back of it

Ive had this machine for nearly two and a half years since we bought it weve constantly had faults with it. I understand this is actually an indiset machine and i always thought hotpoint reliable.I bought matching apliances from the ultima range which all have had constant faults with them. Complained to their head office not even the courtesy of a reply i belive these units are not fit for purpose as perscribed by Trading Standards and intend to seek money back from the courts.

I have always bought hotpoint washing machines but after this wt741 I am going to think again. The bearings have gone meaning it's very noisy on spin and also it smells of stale water. Rubbish

Owned this machine for approx 20months. same as others here bearings going struggle to pump out and for a while it has not performed its wash cycle properly i have to stop it and re set to the rinse and spin. The clothes have started just not smelling like they have been washed properly so have had to hand wash a few... this weekend was the final straw pump completely failed, time for a new machine.. Anything but Hotpoint ever again.... We once owned an AEG for 12 years so hoping to look there or Bosh..
I just cannot recommend this machine to anyone unless you want to throw your money away its not up to the job which is disappointing for a name like Hotpoint..
thanks for reading.. :-)

THi has to be the most unreliable washing machine in the world.............ever.
lready had motor, bearings and door mechanism replaced under warranty, now the printed circuit board contrl panel has developed a dislike or warmth or moisture, all the button have dropped off and the control panel intermittently refuses to function, it won't switch on/off or start a cycle.
pixels in the display are also on the weay out. Owned for approx 18months, very poor imho. I certainly won't be buying any hotpoint/ariston branded equipment again.

Have had this machine for 22 months and the bearings have gone! It's so expensive to repair that it works out better value to buy another machine. This time I will just go for a cheap machine and assume it won't last very long!

The Hotpoint Ultima WT741 is a rubbish machine. Broke down after 11 months due to printed circuit board faults. Has broken down again with fault code of F-03 which apparently I won't be able to fix myself. So calling them out again & having to take out a years warranty for £160 as it's more cost effective than just paying a one off call out fee of £100. Machine is now just 2 years 4 months old & has light use (once or twice a week), so very poor reliability!!
My advice is go for a German made machine, I shall when this machine fails again when the one year warranty runs out, rest assured it will fail again!!!

i have this Hotpoint Ultima WT741 machine and it has been a very good machine for the 3 years ive owned it, BUT and it is a big BUT.... we smelled electrical burning once which went away so we continued to use it, even though the display kept flashing on and off, how stupid are we, the electric coil in the machine caught fire.... lucky we were at home, heaven forbid we were out or asleep, no joy from hotpoint about it, just offered to send out an engineer at a cost of over £90!!!! i dont think so....

This hotpoint ultima is the noisiest machine ever. It also has developed a terrible smell and the customer service do not want to know. There have been several visits from a hotpoint engineer who was completely rude and did nothing at all . Poor product , even poorer customer service.

The electiral wire has been replaced three times when this goes it knocks the downstairs sockets off, the bearings have gone and the drum replaced, when the machine is spinning you can't hear the noise is so bad . I have never had or heard of any washing machine having so many problems in the first year. I will never buy Hotpoint again.first machine broke down five times in first year it was replaced by Hotpoint but this machine has been no better and after five more repairs I am replacing it .

Perfect, my Hotpoint Ultima WT741 is a good companion for my drier and I'm very happy with it.

My Hotpoint Ultima WT741 is very good value for what it does. Have looked after it and still looks brand new 10 months later. Can adjust temperature on all cycles depending what you want to wash, countdown timer shows how long until cycle finishes, delay switch up to 12 hours, good spin speed so clothes dry quickly even on maiden.
