    I booked a hotel from Lastminute.com for the 19th Sep 2009 but had to cancel it. At first I read their confirmation email, found no Cancellation policy in there! And went to the website to view my account - booking details. They said because my booking is with 48 hours before my check in date so I need to ring them.

    However, when I rang at 22:00 on the 17th, the customer service line is closed! So I rang up the hotel on the 18th morning, and they were willing to cancel it free of charge but they ask me to speak to Lastminute.com as they are the only one who has a different cancellation policy.

    So, I rang up the number provided on Lastminute.com and they tell me that I have to lose my fee! As I believe that I have followed the T&Cs of theirs. I said I want my money back! And the lady who handled my call spent 2 minutes reading me their policy but I was struggling to tell what she is saying because she can barely make herself heard!

    After my first call, I went to check the T&C at http://www.lastminute.com and they have one line saying "If the cancellation policy is not displayed within your confirmation email and you wish to cancel your reservation, it is your responsibility to notify lastminute.com verbally or in writing at least 48 hours prior to the expected check in date. " How nice!

    I rang again. I told her I have read the T&Cs myself and I've fully understand it so Lastminute.com has no good reason to charge me a penny! I had to raise my voice when I spoke to her in the end and tell her she should speak to the hotel. She took my phone number and said she will ring me back!

    Apparently she is the only one handling the calls today, so I hope my phone will ring in the next few hours or so! Fingers Crossed!

    she said I should ring them before 8pm but their T&C only says 48 hour before check in! Lastminute.com hasn't followed their T&C at all! It is so difficult to cancel a booking from Lastminute.com

    Booked tickets to Alton Towers, had to cancel trip due to medical reasons. Lastminute.com would not offer refund or even change date on tickets to later in year. Customer Service difficult to understand and rude.

    We booked last February two weeks in Corfu for the September, was a good price and all seemed well, in June we received the tickets and paperwork but the flights were for the following week! I tried telephoning but there was no direct contact number, just automated service advising to e-mail any changes, which I did and finally 3 weeks later we got new tickets for the correct date but no apology.

    The website hung as I tried to amend the date while doing a final check of the booking and appeared to reload, I then received a confirmation email about 20 minutes later with the wrong date (having never pressed submit). They refuse to cancel or amend. I have had the money taken from my account and despite a customer service advisor telling me they would offer a discretionary refund with a cancellation charge of £20, she later phoned back denying this and offering no alternatives.     Don't waste your time.
    I did not book with lastminute.com because both times I selected a specific trip/dates/hotel the advertised price was not available. Supposedly an alternate airline ticket had to be selected, which increased the cost of the trip by $150-$300.

    In general, lastminute.com offers a range of lower price flights compared to other travel agents, especially when you book in advance. I have not tried the customer service on phone, but the online service was quite good, and by now, I have not got any bad experience about this website. However, I did not find that the flights were very cheap when I wanted to book close to the flight schedule, this is not as indicated by its name.

    Have had some good deals in past - but this reluctance to refund my funds has ensured I will never purchase again unless by credit card. They are doing themselves no good with their actions. To fob of clients with technical problems to refund 2,700 is ridiculous.

    Do not ever buy ticket on this website. They took my money and never sent me any sort of response. When you try customer service they keep transferring you for days. I really did not look for reviews before I got my tickets in this website. However, I am giving one now, please do not buy anything on that website. They take your money and just runaway. I had booked my tickets for my Honeymoon. This has gone beyond the maximum frustration.

    I made a theatre booking way in advance, and realized seconds after submitting my order that I had clicked on the wrong date by mistake. I contacted them straight away to ask them to move the booking by 1 week, and they said they could not. Apparently it is just tough luck. I found it hard to talk to someone and the email responses I received seemed to be stock replies which did not answer all of my specific questions.     Lastminute.com should be called Lastholidayeverwithyou.com. Honestly, the only time in the year to go on holiday and you feel like you are going round in circles when you book with them!

    We purchased a 1 week all inclusive to Turkey from lastminute.com. As the web site of the hotel in which we were scheduled to stay did not have any pictures of the beach, I called lastminute.com, and they confirmed that the hotel was located on the beach.     I booked flights to South Amerca with Lastminute and paid by credit card. Within a few hours circumstances dictated that I cancel the flights.     I booked with last minute.com to Tunisia. We paid over £1200 for 7 nights All Inclusive at The Liberty Hotel in Skanes. 2 days later, after confirming online, they called us to say The Liberty was unavailable, and they asked "would we stay in The Thapsus in Madhia?"     Be very wary of Last Minute .com's "Top Secret Hotels" deal. Described as fabulous, 5* luxury but so secret their partners don't even want to put their name to them.

    Wondering why? We booked 4 nights at a 5* hotel in Mayfair. It turned out to be a beautiful hotel in a quality chain, but currently undergoing major refurbishment. We checked out the recent reviews on the web and here's an example:-

    It took Lastminute.com 6 days to reply to my calls and emails re: changing the date on a ticket only to tell me that it was then too close to the departure date to change it.

    My requirement from www.lastminute.com was a cheapish 2 day break to Paris, travel by Eurostar, and a comfortable hotel quite close to Gare du Nord.

    In spite of snowfall threatening to spoil the trip and stop the trains from running, Lastminute.com came up trumps. £205 for the 2 of us to travel and a 2 night stay in a 3 star hotel a mere 10 mins walk from the station.
