I ordered for the first time from River Island online store a top with my Grazia Discount Code. The top arrived and was huge so I rang customer service to request an exchange for a smaller size of the same top. They told me they do not exchange and said I would need to reorder the top in a new order. The managers and the Product manager in River island in reading berkshire are a complete disgrace and need extreme customer service training or the sack because they give the store a really bad name they would rather see customers leave upset and angry than help them.. I'm totally bamboozled by their appalling approach to Customer Service. I can't seem to get an actual human being to respond to my completely clear queries re my Order return. All that happens is they send some pointless template email that just restates the same information and doesn't look at the individual case. River Island have the very worst customer device I have ever imagined.
I did not receive a belt with my dress ordered online and I am told I need to refund the whole item, rather than this be investigated. Also I then ask to return to my local store and am told it is a managers discretion and I will need to find out myself..the whole experience has been a waste of my time and money. I can not believe that River Island are such a small organisation in that they can not employ the correct mannered staff. I did not expect this level of service at all.

I totally agree the store in reading berkshire have the worse customer service I have ever had. It's so bad and it's well known by shoppers they are rude agressive and treat you like dirt on thier shoes. And head office are no help either when you complain.

“False delivery!!!!”

Ordered clothing from river island uk on 04 Dec with estimated delivery date 15 dec 13. Informed them and they replied to double the time that is 30dec13. Waited waited until 02 jan and they said to check with customs. Customs require a customs declaration number and river island till this day cannot provide one. They even gave a false tracking number as per Aus post. On 06 jan 2014 they made me fill out a missing parcel form which I did. “28 days for a refund to be processed.”

I returned an unwanted item on 20th Dec, by tracking the return I could tell they received it back on 30th Jan, still no refund back to my paypal, when I contacted them I was told it is up to 28 days for a refund, I am sure they will make a few quid in interest by keeping hold of funds for as long as possible, how is this legal?!!!!… Read Full Review

I have just experienced the same problem with River Island. I telephoned and emailed to check whether my returns had arrived, but was given the same message, to allow 28 days. I recently had a partial refund of £40, but I should have had £60 because I returned 3 tops. Following a query into this and attaching 'proof of purchase' to the email, River Island have informed me that the weight corresponds to 2 items being returned. I am outraged. As a regular on-line buyer, I have never had this problem. I will never shop at River Island again.

Placed two orders on 28-12-13 and paid express delivery to be delivered today Monday the 30-12-13. Order is nowhere to be seen even though you have ripped me off and I have paid £5.95 to receive the items I have paid for LATE? I am appalled with their service. First of all, I ordered a number of items with them on 20th December. All of my order was centred around some boots that I had been after for a while. They took my payment and sent my a confirmation email. I have been a loyal customer to river island for many years but I'm completely disgusted with them. On 14/12/13 I did an online purchase and selected 3-5 days delivery. I have been ordering from RI for at least two years. I was impressed by its fast international delivery. My first parcel arrived within 3 days of ordering. “Disgusting customer service in store and at head office ”

Having purchased a cream bag from the store only to find that after one day of using it the colur of the bag was marked badly which would not come off. I totally agree with you. I tried to complain about staff who couldn't be
bothered to serve me properly and made me put my pin number in twice when i told them it had gone through and they said it had not - so i did it again and guess what, twice out on my statement! when i told customer services, absolutely did not want to know at all. I tell every one i meet how rubbish they are and how thick. If they had a brain, they would be dangerous. Hope they go out of business, they deserve it and i tell everyone i meet and a lot of people i told now steer clear, they are also overpriced!!!

While folding up a white jacket a shop assitant in Richmond upon Thames made black sribbles onto one of the sleeves. We only found out when we opened the bag in the place where we were staying.
