    River Island fronts itself with an attractive, easy to navigate online site that means its easy to make regretable purchases.

    Compared to the other major retail outlets River Island overprices its goods. What do we look for when we value an item? Personally if I am going to pay above the odds I'd expect quality and durability. The clothing fails misserably on both. Clothes perish after only a few wears/washes and given the price tag I find this particularly dissapointing.

    It took 3 working days for the dress to be despatched from River Island(this was ordered on 7th Sept 09). The courier company mis-sorted it. Since this time I have made 8 phone calls, no one is getting back to me re this parcel. River island said they would call me back on two occasions and I have heard nothing............I am still waiting

    I had nearly been put off from buying from this site, as a friend spent £200 on items that never actually left the warehouse, even though she'd got an email to say they'd been dispatched, and taken the money.
    She eventually got a refund after 3 weeks.
    I love a lot of the clothes from River Island so it would have been a shame to let that get in the way. The website was a bit of a nightmare to navigate, but I was happy with the delivery time and packaging. But looking at previous reviews, ...

    Received unbelievably good service the first time I ordered-I'd seen a pair of shoes instore but they didn't have my size. Found them online, placed my order on a Saturday, selected Standard Delivery as Express seemed pricey especially as it wasn't a Next Day service. I couldn't belive it when they arrived on Monday!     brilliant site, i find it easy to navigate through the site and find what i want and everything i have ever ordered from them has come on time, usually when i order normal delivery i get my things within 2-3 days, things are a bit expensive but i think if your shopping at river island you know things arent gonna be that cheap.

    Not happy - ordered 6 items from River Island - came to around £215 with next day deliverythen went on to my account to find they had cancelled one of the items as it wasnt in stock - NO EMAIL TO TELL ME THISTHEN... to make matters worse they then charged my card again for the total without the item!!!! Sent them an email and NO REPLY - bad customer serviceCustomer service not open on Saturdays - so now I have to wait till Monday to get my £215 back!!!!! Ruined my weekend as I need ...

    River Island have the worst serivise ever recieved still waiting after over 2 weeks for a pair of shoes i ordered to be delivered with in 48 hours

    Love river island, I am a complete sucker for them, my wardrobe is full of clothes from there! I have ordered loads of times and not had any problems. There's only 1 thing that I don't like, and that is if you want express delivery it's £6.95, which is extortionate compared to other websites!

    Ordered a top from the website, wore it once and washed it following manufacturers guidelines. The top ripped so I took it to my local store where the shop asisstant said it definitely wasnt a manufacturers fault and it must have been my washing machine! I asked for a contact number for head office and was given a card with their number on it.
    I contacted consumer direct who told me I should have been given a pre paid envelope so that my top could be sent away to be examined for fault.

    Staff were very helpful. went to check sizes and offered alternatives.
    However, managers were on shop floor moaning at staff infront of customers.

    River Island has very nice clothes and friendly atmosphere.

    Well I ordered some clothes two weeks ago, for just over £130 quid. Paid extra for the 48hr delivery. Two days after I returned from work to find a delivery card from "The Home Delivery Network", stating that they had left my parcel at my back door (on a busy street, with a popular high school across the road).     After reading all of the bad reviews of River Island of how peoples items didn't turn up when ordering off their website i was scared to use it, however i ordered my party dress last sunday (7th December) and it came in 4 working days which is within the time they said it would.
    The website is also very easy to use and it is well laid out.

    River Island www.riverisland.com is the most awful website regarding actually fully loading, took me an hour to access the checkout part of the site, delivery took days longer than i was told, could not track my order due to the website not working AGAIN and the store refuses to hold items for you to collect. Also, the website doesn't have a direct customer services number, you have to call a store for it. What kind of national company is this?

    Great fitting and style clothes at River Island. Lots of very nice and not too expensive clothes and lots of sales and opportunities to snap up a bargain! Handbangs are quite pricey though.

    I placed an order 3 weeks ago, spent over £200 and paid extra for 48hr delivery and guess what? Still no clothes! I am very disappointed after numerous phone calls to their customer service people and email after email. They resonded after a week stating the courier company delivered my parcels in my porch. I don't have a porch! No card was put through either so I either have neighbours as theives, a porch at the front I've been unaware of or maybe River Island's delivery system is poor. ...

    Have been waiting 2 weeks for my clothes from River Island online shopping and from reading the rest of the reviews I'm not to hopeful, have spent 150 and have nothing to show for it.

    River Island is my favourite store of all time. Expensive but their clothes are unique and majority of them are exquisitely pretty which you wouldn't find in any other store. However, as stated, the website is horrendous... avoid at all costs!

    I ordered items from the River Island site on the 21st of November, but I am still waiting!!! I haven't received an answer to my emails, and I don;t know how to get my money back!! I have emailed Trading Standards and I waiting to hear from them! I am currently 126 pounds out of pocket with nothing to show for it!!! If anyone can offer any advice, please leave me a comment.
