We have just returned from the ' London Classic Tour ' It was more expensive than other london tours we have been on, but we stayed in a very central area of London, hence the price being more expensive. The Thistle Hotel Kensington Park is a modern Hotel, the only downside was the very small bedroom. Our driver, he was one of the best drivers we have had, and we have been on a lot of Shearings Tours. He was very helpful at all times, and was a hive of information. On the way down to... Returned today from Ship & Castle Hotel, St. Mawes, Cornwall. Our coach driver had never been to Cornwall before and we got totally lost on journey to this hotel. Up and down A30 and round one roundabout three times!. I had to change my holiday date by a week due to work commitments. I was disgusted to be told that i had to pay £15 per person for the transfer. So an extra £30 pound on top. so in total im paying over £200 pound for my stay. which i think is excessive seeing as im giving them 6 weeks notice! i will definitely not be using shearings holidays again and will certainly be telling people not to use them. I am not a serial complainer at all, the aim of this review is to bring to the attention the good and bad points of the last 5 days. We decided to park at Normanton, I was surprised that the fee had gone up to £20 for 5 days. It want that long ago when it was £1 per day. We were told to get there for 9.30am,and it was like a cattle shed, no seats left, people stood in walkways, and the bus didnt go until 10.40 am. I am glad to see that there people who have been on holiday with this company and have the gumption to speak.
I cannot understand why so many of the customers grin and bear it when there is so much wrong going on.
Yes and i say YES with a capital Y certain posts are screened and not allowed by staff in customer services who action the online comment system.
Mine was shut down three times. Shearings also appears to have influence with other on line holiday comment sites.
Another trick or ruse by some companies who have complaints against them on line, is to contact the on line company and state it was done in malicious way by a competitor holiday company, this is blatantly NOT true.
Some people do have posts put on in a negative way they are normally the low grade easy complaints and normally with regular punters.
Those who get compensation are lucky or have influence by being involved in large groups or parties that go every year.
I have issues with these coach holiday companies in the way they treat their drivers the way they operate the tours and the hotels they use.
I also have issues with their customer services and the way they operate complaints.
If anyone would like to come forward and interject with similar thoughts to our problems and issues I would be happy to communicate and comment.
There is a whole chasm of stuff and issues going on in these tours that needs to be regulated and stopped forthwith.
There are a number of Third Party Liability issues that could be in question and at risk on these tours and Government and Legislators including Trading Standards need to get involved to curtail a multitude of eye brow raising carrying's on by these over seas coach tour operators.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to communicate or interject with me on the subject matter.
Regards to all
