This keyboard is totally outstanding and beats keyboards of twice the price. I bought a Rolland RD700 for a friend and to be honest most of the sound on my Yamah dgx were totally superior especially the Acoustic piano sound. It was not just a little better it was outstandingly better. I had the opportunity to have bothe keyboards side by side for a week to compare and while there are some wonderful pads etc on the Rolland the basic keyboard sound were for better on the Yamaha.

It is good for a student. Nice sound, good display & touch. Only 6 track recorder. 16 track was required. Anyway, this is good for a piano student.

This is a great machine. A little heavy, but still easily portable especially once you know how to handle it.

What a wonderful machine. Its lightness for easy transportation. The sound. Everything about it. I use it professionally in the theatre, where it has proved to be very useful and versatile.

Yamaha has created a winner outside of the Clavinova range. This is an affordable 'real' piano. Not a cheap nasty keyboard pretending to act like a piano, but a very competitively priced real sounding (and more!) piano. Once you have finished your piano practise, have fun with the other sounds. Or while you are practicing use the on board tunes and scores to enhance your practicing.

I am a serious Grade 4 pianist who has spent a long time trying hundreds of digital pianos for one that suits me just right. It took a while, but it has been worth it.

When I arrived at the name Yamaha for a start I was in high expectation for the options I would have to choose from with this amazing instrument manufacturer.
The Yamaha Personal Piano range was cut shortly down to the following designs:
    *YDP-131
    *DGX -620
    *P-40
After reviewing each one individually, nothing could compare ...
