The Olympus is a good camera it can point and shoot and with high speed (type H) XD cards the speed is very good , with a type m xd card the speed is good though slower , with standard xd the speed is acceptable for a compact.
It lies nicely in your hands , it has a small "grip" on the right-hand side. The reaction time from start up is high so in a second it is ready yo shoot.
It can use 2gb of XD , for compatibility use the Olympus XD cards , with others the panoramic feature doesn't work.
It has also got 22 mb of internal memory but it gets lost when the power is drain or the battery door is opened!
My advice would be by at least a 1GB XD card type M or H . the H -types are a bit more expensive though faster than M types. the standard XD card (no letter on the left front side (below) will work also but movie mode will be limited to 320 size instead of 640 at a higher and faster card.
I new the brand already but now own a Olympus myself (fe180)
