Good Points: Startling look and amazing practicality. Done 47K miles in 5 years and no worries at all. Costs less than a Passat to service. Boot will swallow 2 huge suitcases with ease. Surprisingly comfortable. No rattles and really sweet to drive. Head up display is very practical and the removable targa top makes sunshine real fun.
Bad Points: Consider it a Grand Touring car more than a sports car, and the fit & finish is not the best, but hey its not falling apart and looks the same inside as the day I bought it new.
General comments: This car has been a revelation. Never owned an American car before & I was never too sure about them. The Corvette does not fit this profile and I recommend it to anybody.
Drive a Porsche or a Ferrari and you are just some show-off in a flash car, and folks turn their heads away. Drive a Corvette and people seem to have no hesitation in talking to you about it, and they smile and always make a positive comment.
OK, so what about the fuel consumption? Well 22 mph is normal, but if you spend a long while in traffic it can drop to 18, or sometimes 25 on a run if you are very gentle. My car is an auto and manuals might get better.
Insurance? Well there are competitive guys out there selling good insurance to sports car owners. I live on London and in my fifties. £400 exactly last year from Adrian Flux. What more can I say. EXCEPT GET ONE NOW!!!
