Bought a house with a Baumatic BDW13 already installed in the kitchen. £ weeks in and the drainage pump has failed. Independent engineer advised that the machine isn't worth the £65 to replace, but replaced anyway. The biggest problem is that even with the best dishwasher tablets and on the highest setting possible, the plates and cups are dirtier after the cycle than they were before they went into the machine. I've checked all filters, salt and rinse aid and even the jets on the... (read more)

Error code E3 apperared on display. Contacted Baumatic 3 weeks ago and said common fault and needed a new heating element. Engineer arrived 1 week later and told me that it was an error code E3 and it needed a new heater element and he would have to order in the part. Engineer did not turn up for the scheduled 2nd visit after booked time off work. I have now phoned Baumatic customer care numerous times; they don't return calls and don't seem to care. If I knew that it would be this much... (read more)

doesnt clean dishes, leaves glasses gritty, wont dissolve dishwasher tablets correctly, noisy, takes too long to do a washer is quicker to do dishes by hand. Baumatic Service centre unhelpful, and could never give an exact time or day when an engineer would be coming to look at this piece of rubbish. Engineer stated that all their dishwashers were no good and the best ones are the really expensive ones! Bosch.... Had this for one year and we are going to be replacing it cant take the double... I have purchased several Baumatic appliances for my kitchen, including the BDW13 dishwasher. It is seems very cheaply made, the element is exposed which gets covered in limescale. I have had it repaired 3 times because the door didn't close properly. The last time Baumatic customer service came out they arranged a visit for TWO WEEKS time and I arranged to work from home. They then cancelled the appointment at the last minute. The person I spoke to from Baumatic was incredibly rude and... (read more)

Bought Baumatic BDW13 as part of a built in dishwasher. Told at time it was a decent machine. When engineer called out he said it was one of the best on the market.
In a nutshell it is a load of trash.
Won't clean properly , leaves glasses all scummy and dirty.
DON NOT BUY AT ALL , TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY....

Chose Baumatic as we required integrated dish washer. Has never washed properly and miss old Hotpoint. Rarely use now as any dishes need to be rewashed in sink. Do not buy. (read more)

Ours is integrated, and has been no bother since installation. The loading and unloading is easy, plenty of space, and cleans really good.
Like every thing look after it and it will look after you. Clean the filter regulary (every month) and it should work great.
Only slight criticism is some of the netting at the bottom of the cutlery tray has come apart but i think this is due to dropping knives in from a height, and possibly the wrong way too.
Go for it!

This is an update on my previous review. Machine threw up error code E3 within its warranty period. Took Baumatic a week to send an engineer. When he arrived he had no card to pay for parking, so I had to stand guard on his van for 1 1/2 hours in case it got ticketed. Changed motor pump, and said leave for 12 hours for 'glue' to dry (apparently hoses are glued). Next day tried machine, threw up error code 4. Phoned Baumatic, they said, switch off and leave door opne for 2 days. I said "no"... (read more)

I've just adjourned from a dinner party to express my total frustration at the rubber door seals. I've put up with this f"""g thing for a year, but the straw that broke the camel's back was when the veneer on the matching door that one fits onto this integrated unit 'blew' because of the steam escaping because of the rubber door seal becoming out of place
When you roll the bottom tray in or out it catches the door seal and pulls it out. Much fiddling then follows to get the seal back in...

I've had this dishwasher for over 2 years now, it doesnt clean well at all and I often have to wash the dishes by hand afterwards. The rubber seal keeps coming off when you pull out the bottom basket and glasses get ruined. I f it wasnt intergrated I'd get another one, my hotpoint was much much better, its just too much hassle to get another one, I'll wait until it breaks down. It wasnt my first choice, had I read reviews before I purchased it, things wouldve been different (read more)

Baumatic BDW13. We have owned this dishwasher for 4 years and to be quite honest it has never been right. It just can't seem to wash the dishes properly. We have tried all the products on the market and use the most expensive, we have tried half filling it, putting it on different cycles etc and we still end up washing up!! It started leaking about 3 years ago but would only do it intermittently it now does it all the time. On the rare occasions it doesn't leak it decides to fuse itself... (read more)

Have owned this BDW13 Baumatic machine for less than 2 years, and have called the engineers more than 6 times. It needed a major replacement before it was 1 year old and another replacement two month ago... and today have the same problem again!!!
It doesn't clean properly (I use the best products in the market). Each time an engineer is called the visit will be 10/14 days ahead. Previously had a Hotpoint, cheaper dishwasher that worked so much better. :-(

Our Baumatic BDW13 dishwasher has never washed properly,it always smells and is a complete waste of money. Our kitchen fitter left us with no booklet so we can't workout what the little compartment next to the tablet dispenser is for, anyone know? (read more)

Remember these machines are designed for powder not little tablets. I met a service engineer once who recommended always using powder as you'll always get better results regardless of what the advertising claims. When filling the compartment with powder, fill the little one as well. The pre-wash will then have some detergent in it and you'll get a better result.

Have owned this Baumatic machine for 3 years, when our new kitchen was fitted, and have called the engineers out on numerous occasions. Never dried very well and now it barely cleans half of the contents. Each time an engineer is called the visit will be 10/14 days ahead and they leave thinking it will be fine, but never is. Within 12mths it needed a major part replacing and their have been 2 or 3 other replacements of 'bits & pieces' since then. Previously had a much cheaper dishwasher... (read more)

Had this Baumatic BDW13 for about 4 months now and so far well pleased.
It's fairly easy to install overall but you need to read the instruction manual which you can also find on Baumatic's website and is clearer to read there.
The door was easy to fit using the handy template provided to mark the screw positions. Found levelling the machine to be a bit fiddly but there is a
screw on the front to adjust the rear feet. Remember to fix the condensation strip before you get it into position...

I had the Baumatic BDW13 dishwasher about a month when it stopped working, The poor would go off midcycle so it never finished a complete wash.
It took 2 weeks for engineer to come. When he arrived he focused on the plug socket and suggested there must be something wrong with the power supply, not accepting it might be the dishwasher. He left saying it looked to be working. The problem was it always looked to be working until half way through the cycle when it went off. As soon as he had...

I have owned one of these fridges since the 25th April 2008. This amounts to 4 months. The light went within 2 weeks and now the fridge has a massive block of ice frozen on the inside of the fridge. When I turn the temperature down, massive amounts of condensation occurs. It is also freezing the food in my fridge. I do not expect such massive amounts of malfunction from such a new product that costs nearly £400 - I am sure you would agree! I set up an appointment for one of the engineers to... (read more)

Within 2 years one of the two pumps on my Baumatic BDW13 broke down, I contacted Baumatic as the parts where still under warranty.
A Baumatic electrician checked the machine and ordered the pump,8 weeks later I was still waiting for that pump to arrive as the second pump broke down.
After a couple of phone calls and e-mails I was told that the first pump could still be weeks away and the second pump had to be ordered and could also take a long time.
I decided to replace the Baumatic...

This Baumatic BDW13 dishwasher has fallen apart completely in just over two years. Whole door assembly had to be replaced after a month or so - completely useless. Cutlery basket disintegrated and had to be replaced. Rollers all fell off. Top drawer collapses inside. Have to wash everything by hand. The bottom door is 'suspended' open on springs so as the weight of plates etc is added it sags down.Don't touch with a barge pole. The reason I have come to this site is to find a machine to... Extremely poor after sales service, you can be waiting TWO weeks or more! 5 year parts is really a con, if your appliance is over two years old or they consider it to be unrepairable then you are offered one at a discount - which is not much. I will never buy this make again and advise others to steer well clear. (read more)

Flimsy, bottom tray which came off it's tracks every time I pull it out unless I am really careful. Had to have detergent holder replaced as it broke. The dishwasher is now tripping out our electricity so cannot be used. I would never buy another Baumatic product. I bought the Baumatic BDW13 despite reservations about dishwashers not very ecologically friendly. This ones quite economical so i thought why not. Being my first one i don't have much to compare it to but its made washing up a lot easier and it does a good job despite being quiet. Recommended. (read more)

Yep couldn't agree more! We moved into our house with the same dishwasher and has failed in the same way and at best worse than useless!
To add insult to injury it's 2mm narrower than standard so fitting I a new one won't fit in the sme gap! Aghhh!
