Good Points: Fine quality, excellent playback, well thought out and designed, audiophile cd playback.
Bad Points: Noisy on the old menus - but doesn't bother me much as it's quiet where it matters i.e. watching the film. I really think, for this price, there should be no compromise on the quality of the disc tray - better than average here but could still be improved.
General comments: The Marantz DV7010 DVd player is beautiful just to look at on the shelf! The overall layout is great and the materials used exude fine quality that'll outlast the technology. Being a designer these things tend to matter to me as well as the more technical issues, which are also excellent. CD playback is full bodied, DVD picture and sound is just spot on. Bargain price at richer sounds of £299. I would be reluctant to pay the full £700 for it but high value at three or four hundred quid.

The thing I didn't noticed when I bought the player was the noisy CD transport mechanism. As mentioned in other reviews, it really quietens down when the movie starts playing, but in very quiet movie sce ...- Read Rav3n's review (120 words and 1 comment)

I've used the Marantz DV-7010 DVD player for about a month and have been very happy with it. It really gives a smooth playback with minimal/no pauses.
For a component of such obvious quality, I would have expected it to be a bit quieter. It's fairly noisy on menus, but it quietens down quite a bit once the movie starts playing. Not quite sure why, but I guess the menu is the best place to have excessive noise :-)
I'm absolutely stunned by how good the video quality is on the Marantz. I ...- Read OneOff's review (176 words)
