This Indesit WD12 was newly installed when I moved in. It is now just 3 years old, perhaps 200 washes.
Spinning knob problem. (Plus, it is indeed very noisy when spinning.)
The service people checked it 3 times in the past 3 months, each time taking out the main circuit board, drying it with a hair dryer, putting it back in. It then worked for another 1 or 2 times. (Fortunately, since this is a recurring problem, they charged me only once so far.)
The machine was the choice of the developer, supposedly for one reason only: cheap to purchase.
Verdict: Stay clear. If you got one already, save for a new one. Replace it as soon as it fails for the first time. Everything else is waste of time and money.

Indesit WD12 was a cheap washing machine, which has been excellent value for money. It seems other people have been less fortunate. If it packed up tomorrow I reckon I've had my monies worth.

I've had this for 7 years - mainly trouble free, but it does not dry efficiently (goes in cold and wet - comes out hot and wet). Can be temperamental with the dial just clicking round endlessly.

Wouldn't buy this s/h in a million years. Very hard to think of any. I suppose it does wash clothes and does manage to dry them eventually.

This Indesit washing machine has turning knob syndrome, wash failure halfway through (clothes stuck in machine under water, mega annoying), soap/detergent residue on clothes frequently(soft water area) and dryer far too harsh for most fabrics. Also the noisiest spin I have ever heard!

After just over a year the bearings went. After 5 years the main circuit board died - and we were advised to scrap the machine.
The repair man told use we were very luck to have got 5 years out of the Indesit WD12 with so few problems. It is known as 'the flasher' because of its problems. The circuit board is known for going because it doesn't like vibration or condensation (great for a washer dryer).

The Indesit WD12 was purchased just over a year ago and since then has had the main module replaced 4 times, Yes 4. Just last week I had the engineer out again for what I thought was the same problem and he said it was the heat sensor which cost me £69.98, he let me off the cost of the part £4,95! This bill covered his time plus £10 tax!, Since last week I have used it once and it has now gone faulty AGAIN. I would not recommend these machines to anyone - I have had nothing but ...

When we first bought the Indesit WD12 washing machine we thought the spin cycle was very loud, as it was like a jumbo jet taking off. Also, there were knocking noises. We phoned Indesit who said it was normal! This happened again not long after the warranty had passed. Indesit were no use and wanted to charge huge fees, so we called an independent company (no call out charge) who said the drum was on it's last legs (apparently a common fault). He advised us to keep using it until it finally gave ...

We had our Indesit WD12 machine for just on three years. The Indesit engineer found that the drum and main bearing had to be replaced which meant that the machine has to be scrapped. I would never ever buy or recommend an Indesit to anyone!

Nothing but problems so far. Indesit WD12 on and off button isn't fixed strong enough as a result depresses itself all the way in. You have to take the top off the machine to push this back out, far from ideal especially on an integrated machine.

Randomly fails on wash cycles, dial just keeps spinning and you have to turn off the power and start over again, very annoying if your part way through a long wash cycle.

Leaks from the water inlet so much that's its unusable. Had the thing four ...

Had this Indesit WD12 for 18 months now - no problems at all (apart from occasional failure to stop at end of dry cycle; Mains spikes maybe?).
When bought new, we paid for the extended warranty (5years) as it was going to be heavily used - so far it has not been needed - the last machine (Hoover Washer dryer - failed twice within 12 month warranty period then the drum failed (£130!)at 15months - so we scrapped it)
So comparatively - this is great.

We had problems with the Indesit WD12 within the first year, part-way through the wash cycle the machine stopped and the program dial clicked round and round. You then needed to turn it off for fifteen minutes in order to rescue your washing. This was fixed under warranty, but didn't inspire confidence.

We've now had the machine for 18 months, and the problem is back. In addition, the dryer has stopped working. It makes the right noises but clothes come out of it cold and wet.

    Indesit have ...
