Good Points: Clean- its got a pool
Bad Points: Very unfriendly and in my opinion and rude manager.
General comments: We were very very disappointed esp. with the owners attitude & refusing to take any responsibility for anything. Lots of Insects too & plenty of mosquitoes - I will be writing to the Lonely Planet - we felt we were really badly treated. We were asked to vacate a room that we had booked a week previously because other more guests were coming from England (she obviously considered them more important), she said that there had been a mix up & that we were being given another room (we checked it and it was awful) - shame they couldn't tell us before we had stayed in the room one night & unpacked all our bags. They gave us half an hours notice to change rooms - we refused - we checked out - not before they charged us an extra nights accommodation - they don't take any blame for anything & to be honest with you I would never recommend it to anyone - they seem to think that they have something very special and one should feel privileged for staying there and to be honest its very average.

We've been to the Oceanic twice now and love the hotel and staff. It's very relaxed and the staff are very helpful. We also love the pool at the rear, it is a real sun trap. The staff are all only too happy to help.
Enjoy.

This is one of only two hotels in Palolem with a pool and the other is completely stuffy and over priced. The Oceanic Hotel is clean, comfortable, hygienic and run by a great family. When you're travelling that far afield, it's nice to see some friendly faces and feel welcome and relaxed. The food is fresh and tastes great. They're always helpful with recommendations. It's well worth staying here, it's a really great hotel in a really beautiful part of Goa. We've been twice and will definitely b ...

The Oceanic Hotel is a real home from home. The hosts offer fabulous food both English and Indian, the Vindaloo is a must, good clean accommodation and a warm and friendly welcome, it's like visiting good friends. The ambiance is so relaxing, with walled gardens, a beautiful pool area and chilled out vibes. Just off the beaten track a little, Oceanic is a 2 minute moped ride from Patnem beach and a short scooter hop down to Palolem, where there are more shops, bars and restaurants than you can v ...

I'm very surprised to see negative comments about the Oceanic Hotel. We have been visiting the Oceanic every year for over four years now. We have seen major changes to the standards of the rooms and to the overall upgrading of the hotel and restaurant. We also visited Palolem before the current British owners took over at the current Oceanic, so we know for a fact that they have made drastic improvements.
I am not sure what problems the people who left the negative comments encountered but all ...

We booked the Oceanic over the internet making a £25.00 deposit by Paypal. We asked them to arrange a taxi to collect us from the airport and that worked well. Then it went downhill.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were very hot and extremely tired. We were told where our standard room was (not shown), which was just off the restaurant. Our room would have been OK if it wasn't for the state it was in. The sheets and towels were a sort of murky grey and the room smelt damp with a three ...
