  Good Points: At least it worked for a year and a half.

  
  

  Bad Points: Paid $300 for two years of okay coffee.

  
  

  General comments: I purchased this Krups XP2000 coffee/espresso maker in April of '07 and it worked great until December of '08. Had it repaired at one of the recommended appliance stores. That experience was a nightmare. Six months later my machine stopped working and all Krups will do is give me a mail in rebate for $20 or pay for shipping to another recommended appliance store. Will never purchase Krups products again.

  The Krups XP2000 is a brilliant coffee machine. best one i have come across to take ground coffee . easy to use and tastes amazing, intensive cleaning and needs to be done straight away, and its hard to get your cup into the space.

  How can they call the Krups XP2000 an espresso maker? I cannot seem to get any froth from the milk steamer. Just hot bubbles or burned milk. I guess that's why it's best to just spend the $3.50 a cup and buy your latte from a real barista at the coffee bar.

  When using the coffee maker on my Krups XP2000 (not the espresso maker) water leaks profusely from the bottom of the machine onto the counter. It's just making a mess and is annoying. I don't recommend this machine because of that.

  Got this Krups XP2000 as a big gift, but the problems seem to be endless. The on/off switch for the filtered side now does not turn off immediately (it used to). The blue light stays on for a while, and then goes off. Sometimes it stays on for quite a while. Gets confusing, did I turn it off or not.   Bought Krups XP2000 Feb 2008. In June it started to leak from filter side. When returned from service, water filled into espresso tank ran straight out of the bottom. A totally new replacement received yesterday. The heater on the espresso side did not work.   Had a Krupes Espresso and coffee maker for years in Europe when they were made there and it was fine.Now the XP 2000 I bought in the US are made in China and are just scrap.

  The Krups XP2000 coffee machine is a disappointment. It is absolutely junk. The coffee making isn't too bad but the frother is totally useless. Don't waste your money. I would be better going down the road and buying the cheap 20 cent macdonalds coffee. What a waste of money!

  One of the other reviews of this Krups XP2000 mentions terrible things that can happen if you switch on the machine without filling the water reservoir-the simple answer to that is, make sure you put water in it, as it tells you in the instructions. Its one of my most prized possessions and all the negative reviews to me sound surreal, this is a smashing coffee machine, go and buy one immediately!

  Before I purchased this Krups XP2000 coffee machine, I did lots of research on similar priced models. Quite a lot of reviews commented on how poor the milk frother is, well, I actually find it's more than adequate. I use ice cold semi skimmed milk and get really good results. I have owned my machine for about 4 months and use it most days. The coffee it makes, whether espresso or filter, is wonderful (make sure you buy decent coffee in the first place though!).   We took the original Krups XP2000 espresso machine back within a week - it had a mind of its own! We were given an instant replacement at Comet. It seems to be working much better. Time will tell. The coffee is lovely though!

  This was a real disappointment, on paper this machine would have fulfilled my needs but it's poor performance and poor robustness make it unusable. I will be looking for other manufacturer models in future as I think this unit has many fundamental design flaws.

  Coffee making is decent. Expresso making decent though mine leaked and had to return. THE WORST FROTHING EVER!!! It is hit or miss and when it does hit it is not even great. it boils the water instead of frothing it!

  I have had three of these machines in as many months. my first one failed to force water through the coffee. The second leaked all of its water over the work surface overnight and the third one failed completely after 26 days.!
  
  My advice - don't touch it with a bargepole

  Very poor instructions on Krups XP2000; when the machine was first turned on to the espresso water holder leaked from the first day - a complete disaster. Tried several times to contact support without success. A very disappointing machine which comes as something of a surprise from Krups who I thought had a reputation for reliability.

  Looks can be deceptive. A smart exterior hides a couple of niggles with the XP2000. First has to be the poor explanatory leaflets, which fail to mention you will be in for a nasty surprise if you switch the machine on without first filling the water tank. It can wreck the machine, and the noise it makes is horrible. Next make sure that the water reservoir (espresso part) is very firmly planted indeed (or the noise it makes is truly horrible).
