Good Points: Easy to use & clean & makes great coffee.

Bad Points: It breaks down very soon after purchase. Breville must know about this design fault & should have recalled all the machines

General comments: I was given the CM8 coffee machine as a gift at Christmas by my daughter & used it for the 1st time on boxing day. All was well & it made great frothy coffee for approx 2 months & then decided to jam on the coffee shot dial. It was used & cleaned as instructed. I rang up & explained the problem & got a replacement. The second 1 lasted about the same length of time & then the same problem happened again. I rang up again & another replacement arrived on June 8th. So far so good but i,m not holding out much hope of it lasting, especially now i,ve read all these reviews. On past experience i reckon i,ll be ringing up again around mid August. Watch this space!!!!

After 8 months my Breville CM8 failed to suck water up from reservoir. I always pay close attention to cleaning after use. Tried cleaning through with pipe cleaners, to no avail. Now completely useless.

This is my fourth Breville CM8 machine! It makes lovely coffee for 2 weeks, then all it produces is steam! I gave it plenty of chances because there are no other machines on the market, but enough is enough. Goes back to Argos tomorrow. Why is this machine still on the market, don't Breville read these reviews?

The Breville CM8 was a bad buy. Not stocked any longer by any High Street stores. My first machine broke down after about 8 weeks and was replaced. The second broke down after 6 weeks and the third did not survive any longer.

I had been looking at this Breville CM8 machine for some time and bought it today and tomorrow it is going straight back! If you like a cup of milky coffee its fine, but for that you just need a kettle and some milk. This machine certainly doesn't live up to its claims. Yes, you only need instant coffee and milk, plus about 20 minutes to spare. It certainly does not make frothy cappuccino.

So far I've had 2 of these (just about to return the second one. Works great for the first few days then all it produces is steam and blows bubbles in the milk tray, I'm hoping for 3rd time lucky, lets hope this one lasts more than a week.

This machine works brilliant, very easy to use, if they had made it so you could access the mechanism to clean it would be 10 out of 10. This item failed after approx 300 uses.

Not very durable but probably worth the £60 it costs as opposed to other cappuccino machines.

    Buy, but use very gently.

My hats off to Breville a well thought out machine, as coffee is to the cm8, it's like a duck to water
