Good Points: The Motorola V500 has good screen clarity and it is easy to use. The battery also lasts a long time, even through heavy use use, when it will need charging roughly every two days. It is a cost effective phone with many features, including bluetooth and WAP, and it is a very good medium range phone.

Bad Points: I have had no problems with the phone, other than occasionally when I want to charge it up and it has taken several attempts to get it going. I also find the 4.5Mb built-in memory quite small, and it could do with being much larger. The picture quality of the built-in camera is also quite poor and grainy.

General comments: I find the Motorola V500 to be ideal for my needs, as I do not need or want features such as video cameras. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a medium range phone with basic features. It is good value for money and very easy to use.

I found the Motorola V500 to be a great mobile phone. However, the only problems I did have with it were when the speaker stopped working, so I could only hear my calls via loudspeaker (quite embarrassing!), and every time I accessed WAP, my memory decreased. By the time I had finished with my phone, my memory had gone from 5000kb to 584kb. How this happened I do not know. Generally it is an excellent phone that I would definitely recommend. The Games, WAP, Multimedia Messages, Camera fac ...

After previously being an owner of a Nokia 3120, I was relieved to finally have a phone in my mits with some features! When first handling the Motorola V500 mobile phone I discovered how weighty these handsets really are, which is mostly due to the supplied SNN5683A Lithium Ion Battery. The battery covers almost the whole of the handset when removing the back cover, but it is relatively thin. The battery is easy to remove and so is the SIM card, which sits under one static and one movable cli ...

Generally I am happy with my Motorola V500. It is reliable, stylish and has good features, although I have to fiddle around with the charger for a while until it starts charging, and it does scratch really easily.

Motorola V500 - I've had this phone for around 6 months now, and have found it quite straightforward to use, has plenty of features, and seems reliable. Apart from the fact that you can't see the screen in sunlight, which appears to a common failing of many mobiles, and the picture quality isn't that great, the one thing which really drives me to distraction, and which dissuades me from ever wanting another Motorola, is the side-mounted buttons. These are such a ludicrous and unnecessary feature ...

Ok, overall the V500 isn't really a bad phone, it all depends on the user and what you want it to do, or what you want to do. I'll agree with other reviewers that the case is easily scratched, I've got loads on my phone, but as long as it keeps working I don't care. Bluetooth is a great system to use, and has become invaluable to me in my day to day life, I'm forever using it, despite the fact that occasionally it has trouble connecting to devices if the Bluetooth has not been used for som ...

I got this phone through a trade with one of my friends, and was initially very pleased with it... Initially. Once I started using the phone I found that: 1) The charger is always loose 2) Only lasts about 3 hours if you play with it 3) Gets scratched by anything and everything 4) Bleeping whenever you go in or out of signal (such as entering or exiting a shopping centre) 5) Decides to put itself on loud when it is in your pocket (at the most awkward of times, such as in the middle of tests ...

Have always had a trusty Nokia, but decided I would like a change so tried Motorola V500. Phone is junk. Plastic scratches easily, charger does'nt connect properly after a few weeks, outside display has gone all scrambled, switches it self off, battery life poor. I am always careful with my phones my previous nokias are all in working order, my 3310 is being used by my partner and is still going strong after five years. My 3510 I use for work and is 3 years old battery still holds charge for 5 t ...

I have had my Motorola V500 since October no problems until now!! Within the last week my phone has been turning its self on and off automatically my backlight changes from 60seconds down to 20seconds by its self and I have no free space at all because every day it gets less and less! I have deleted all my pictures and ringtones and text messages but still when I go to take a photo it says I have used 33% memory!

I'm 15 and I kinda like this Motorola V500 mobile phone. On the downside I have had a few problems with it which have annoyed me a lot. firstly I have recently had a message come up telling me that my inbox is full, but I have no messages in it. I have deleted all my games, ringtones, pictures ect and suddenly when i am supposed to have about 5 meg of space, I have 1.4kb. my battery dies after like 3 days and about 5 hours if I play on it. I cant send messages to some people and I dont know why. ...

This was my 1st and my last Motorola. The V500 turns itself off. Texting is a pain, the case gets scratched so easily, it doesn't charge properly and finally, after only 6 months the speaker has gone! can't hear anyone on the other end! TOTAL RUBBISH !!! Just ordered a 6230, back to old faithful Nokia.

I brought this phone from my local choices video rental shop in June 2004 but the first 1 had to go back due to switching on and off. As with most things you can occur a faulty batch as I did and so got a new phone. Now it's March 2005 I thought I'd write a review for this phone. After mainly having Nokia phones from the Nokia 402 (5110) to 3210-3510i I decided to switch brand as every phone after the 3210 just kept freezin' all the time and switching on and off. As I have difficulty reading ...

I got the Motorola V500 in August and it's been great. The camera is really good, although the picture quality seems to have got slightly worse as I have used it more. Although there are only 2 games, monopoly and stuntman, they aren't too bad. The only annoying thing is you cant turn the sound off on them, so this is not good while you're playing them out with mates etc. I admit the phone is slightly heavier than most, but it's looks make up for it. I personally found it easy to navigate ar ...

Got my Motorola V500 in September two weeks later it had to be replaced. The screen went blank on a regular basis it switched its self off when it felt like it, the bluetooth doesn't work properly. It ends calls when it feels like it wont answer them when you want it to. And I am now on my 2nd replacement handset which is no better as the camera on it has now given up the ghost.

I bought the V500 after reading all the good reviews, but it was so disappointing, I put it on eBay within 24 hours! The Bluetooth earpiece was great, but that was about it. The interface is far too complicated, especially for sending text messages, and the phone is unweildy compared to my basic, but extremely user-friendly Nokia 6100. If you like gadgets and Pokemon-style animated icons, then I dare say you will like this phone, but I hated it and went back to the boring-but-safe Nokia af ...

Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The Bluetooth didn't work, the shop I got it from gave me the wong battery twice, then when I finally thought I had sorted the damn thing, it died completely. Wouldn't turn on, charge or anything.

To be honest, I bought my Motorola V500 in haste. My old Moto E365 had taken one bump too many and packed up. Being at college I need my phone for various reasons and that's why I needed one asap. I'm sat in my car, opening the box and thinking this is one cool phone and I pick it up. What!?! Heavy phone! and that's without the battery. I can live with that, minor detail. I switch it on, exchange sim cards from phones and I am in awe. The menu I found extremely easy to navigate and get around, t ...

Oh Dear. I wanted the Motorola V500 to be an ace phone, got it as an upgrade on Orange, my old phone was a Nokia 6100, and was so pleased with it when I saw it in the box. Then I picked it up, the plastics felt shiny and brittle like my old TV remote. Switch it on and marvel at the quality of the screen, and pray that it won't affect battery life. I must have said the wrong prayer words! Three days is about the max I can get from the battery and thats if I don't touch it. Or even look at it, in ...

I was initially mighty impressed with the Motorola V500's features and it does a lot right. However I had it replaced after about 3 months when on many calls the other person couldn't hear me. I now have the problem that I cannot hear any incoming calls for about the first 30 seconds. Motorola are no help with the send the phone in service, not much good. Luckily I am able to upgrade on Orange, only problem is I have recently bought the Bluetooth speaker for the car which is excellent, so will p ...
