    Good Points: Easy to use once you get used to the way it works.


    Bad Points: Hard drive too small & keeps filling up before I get around to watching my programs. Dust magnet.


    General comments: I've had my Sony RDR-HX720 for a couple of years now. It's hardly ever been turned off. Very happy with it except I've had to open it up to dust out the insides. Not the best ventilation & the fan not strong enough to suck it all out. No real complaints about it, though.

    I am very frustrated with this product. When it goes in for repairs it is there for at least two weeks which effects everything else in our home system. I purchased an extended 5 year warranty but would really like to just get my money back as it is evident it is a poor product.

    Slow start up and in/out with disks, frustrating but just have to be patient. This is my second Sony RDR-HX720, the first ones hard drive failed within 12 months so was replaced under warranty. Its replacement has also failed for the same reason but after 16 months, 4 months out of warranty. Presently at place of purchase for inspection and will not be impressed if not repaired/replaced under warranty. Wouldn't buy this model again because of this fault.

    Great Unit. Fantastic, worked perfectly from day 1 and still does 1 year on.
    Great remote works great tv controls on the remote are great to.
    I highly recommend, I wouldnt buy anything but Sony now.

    From Day 1, the Sony RDR-HX720 system did not work. Remote will operate the unit, on fixing that it was discovered that the picture was black and white. On fixing that, it was discovered that the system will become unresponsive after inserting DVD and very slow. It is supposedly fixed, but I have not tested it yet. The worst purchase I made in my life, I will not buy any other Sony product. It has been in the repair shop for nearly 4 months after purchase and the response for repair by Sony has ...
