Good Points: Very high light sensitivity, sharp image, great colours, HYPER HAD

Bad Points: No synchro shutter mode

General comments: Sony DXC-327AP is professional camera head that can be docked to digital or analog VTRs or studio back.
This camera uses 3 HYPER HAD CCD sensors of 1/2" size.
HYPER HAD allows this camera to take shots in lower light than most of models from its time, also it has great sharpness, extremely low smear and superior colours.
With Sony CA-327P studio back this camera weights about 6kg.
I recommend this camera for small budget operators, that can not afford a new professional camera of such grade.
It has fully modern picture that can be translated on television with todays broadcast standards.
This camera has no extra features, but it does the work better than most cameras in its price range and even better than cameras that are new now and cost 10 times more(!). All you need to get this superior quality is good DVD Recorder connected to it.
I would not recommend to use this camera with analog formats, such as SVHS or Betacam SP.
This is professional camera, as all cameras of this grade it has no Auto Focus.
For sound I give 8/10, because it has small built-in microphone. To get superior quality you can connect to the camera high grade microphone with phantom power to its XLR jack. However, Sony CA-327 has only one audio XLR jack, so you get sound in mono.
This camera head consumes only 8W, that means that on the same battery it will hold longer than competitors.
I paid for this used camera in great condition 2000NIS (~450$), it gives best quality of all video cameras I ever had. When it was new, the price started at about: 13,000$ in 1995.
