    Good Points: Well Built. Typical Tascam build quality, built to last. Sound quality is excellent. The CD recorder is a brilliant addition. This is a very high quality porta(ble) recording(studio). I recorded a whole demo album on this beauty! An updated original in every sense.


    Bad Points: No backlight on display, this is O.K if you are in a well lit room, but otherwise it can be very tiring on the eyeballs.


    General comments: Tascam have updated this classic digital portastudio yet again. (from this model, i might add). Why? The build quality of the new unit is awful (IMHO), but then again they are cheaper I suppose! It feels so cheap and nasty, and I'm sure if I sat on it would break. Tascam have a reputation with me, I have bought and used every model, apart from the latest, and up to now they have been excellent bits of kit. Only saving grace is the much anticipated, and now included backlight on the display.
