Good Points: It's completely different from T9 or the other predictive text software because it's not statistics based, and so it learns context rather than suggesting a completely irrelevant word. Also it has a function where it can 'scan' a file and learn the vocabulary and context from it - so if you were a medic, if you scanned a medical document it would learn all your scientific terms and put them in context with the words around them. It's just really clever. I'm so impressed by it. You can download a free trial from their website (adaptexlive.com) if you want to try it first, but trust me, you won't be able to do without it!
Bad Points: None I can think of, except that the Tablet PC version won't be available till later this year.
General comments: I've been using AdapTex for a couple of weeks now and I think it's excellent. It learns new words as I type them, including people's names, nicknames, addresses and IT terms for my work. I don't have to make up my own shorthand anymore to type a document quickly, or waste time typing full sentences, the software has learnt the way I write and almost always suggests the phrase I am about to use. It takes the chore out of writing an email, I actually feel like I use my PDA properly now!
