This is very simple. Whether you are a tour pro or a complete beginner if you want to improve your putting, you buy a 2ball.
Interesting story:
A while ago I had a match against a woman in a non-serious competition. I was in really good form and swinging really well and this lady stepped up to the tee and hit an awful shot and i felt really secure, she took another 3 awful shots to reach the green, then pulled out a wretched 2ball and sunk a 12 foot put to win the hole.
