I have these speakers on top of a bookshelf in a small room. They are connected to a Yamaha mini system.
I am highly impressed with the quality of the sound. They sound much bigger than they are with lovely warm bass. The high end is also clear and distinct.
These speakers sound great at all volumes, admittedly there is never going to be a problem in my small room, but still. Highly recommended within that budget. (read more)

The Wharfedale Diamond 9 are very inexpensive , very fine build quality for the money , great looks , even tonality , refined mature character , sweet treble , clear and lucid mid , excellent grip in the low end , can play really loud ( party levels I mean! ) , can sit anywhere ( bookshelf , stands ) This is a paragon of small , very affordable loudspeakers ! Wharefedale seems to have maintained the tradition ! Listen to the pair on your own !!! (read more)
