Excellent performance you can use the mains with using the battery. Excellent recording from sonic stage.

Looks are sleek. Especially connected to travel speakers (SRS-T55) as a room sound system. This unit can fill a room with sound easily and clearly. The batterylife is a little short but recording with the unit plugged in removes the hassle. For recording anything this unit is supreme. I use it to record the birds in my backyard and the sounds generated have me looking over my shoulder. The recording quality is brilliant. Sony MZ-RH1 Review - Ok as for someone who has been recording in the field for 3 decades now this is one of the smallest recorders with a reasonable sound quality,endless memory "thanks to the MD discs"and LPCM encoding, easy to transfer the files to the computer, using the supplied Sonicstage software,and it works with Vista on my Viao..it makes for a great starter kit for separate sound recording for video or even a podcast unit, asside from the typical uses as a portable mp3 player...
