Good Points: Amazing graphics, weapons, terrain, lush environment.

Bad Points: Needs lots of hard drive.

General comments: This game has a great story line and amazing graphics, its is a first person shooter game. The weapons in the game are really cool, and one of the many features of what the game has, lush environment, graphicssmart enemies, ect. I think that the trigens in this game are a bit stupid and silly, but then again a good game for the money.

I found this game again recently after playing it in 2004 and found it to be as good as F.E.A.R. and Half-Life and better than Quake 4. When it came out in 2004, it needed loads of processing power and a solid graphics card then. Today, even with twin 7950s,and 2g of memory, it still struggles when eveything is turned on. Its really heavy on texture maps. If you download the HDR patch, it will need even more.

Its a superb game. I would heartily recommend it.

Upon it's much anticipated release, FarCry boasted graphics better than any other game of the time.

Playing with a powerful graphics card, more than 5 years on the graphics are still considerably good. Lines are smooth, and 3D models are nicely designed with a hybrid of styles - appearance is both cartoon like, but also realistic - an example being the water effects.

The main problem with this game is the poor narrative. I've completed FarCry twice now, and it's safe to say that it wasn't ...

Loads of games claim to be the first of their kind, but Far Cry really is.

Ai that hunts you down and is a genuine challenge
    Beautiful graphics & great atmosphere.

Only a silly story and absurd difficulty curve let it down.

When I bought Far Cry, I was impressed. It was released almost a year before Half-Life 2, and the graphics quality is just as good, except for the computerized people who do not look as life-like as those in HL2. The weapons are all based on real paramilitary/special Ops weapons (like the H&K MP5, and G36, or the M4 carbine). As a lone FPS without having a squad to work with, the first few levels of this game could be a training Sim for special Ops survival in hostile territory. It would have ...

FarCry = Max Payne 2? Ha ha....

This is a great game for 20 somethings... it did for the 2004 First Person Shooter genre what Goldeneye 64 did for the genre in 97-98. Though I prefer squads and tactics, this is an entertaining excellent one man first person game with replay value. Intuitive gameplay.. it's not trying to be a sim.

And now going for 20 bucks, this is an insane value.

I bought FarCry and read loads about it, but was really disapointed when I tried to play it. It wouldn't install! It just kept giving me the alert "cannot find d:/game.cab." I did some research and it turns out that the game cannot be installed if you have a certain brand of cd/dvd drive. I had an LG cd-rw drive and was desperate to play Farcry, so splashed out on an NEC DVD-RW drive. It was all going well until I got the same message again. The drive I bought was also one of the 'incompatible' ...

FarCry - I don't buy many PC games but after reading reviews & watching demos I was quite impressed & purchased the game. WOW, it looks & plays great. This must be the next ultimate first person shooting game after Call of Duty (another 10/10 game in my opinion). The graphics & sound qualities are of high stardard as expected from the requirements to run this game (1Ghz & 256MB).
The game involves unravelling a conspiracy set on tropical islands & fight your way through heavily arm mercenari ...

FarCry is not perfect at all - just people never saw better games, like GTA Vice City, PainKiller, Max Payne 2.
I advise you not to waste money on this. If you do, you will hate yourself for buying it after you are stuck in the game!

Truly a next generation FPS, Far Cry delivers some amazing, photorealistic mediterranean environments. The level of exploration is huge and it has some of the most intelligent AI ever. Trust me, they'll actually scare you. The voices are above average, offering a movie like experience with cool cut scenes.
It includes an easy level editor that allows for direct play within it, ala Tony Hawk. And of course, multiplayer mode with basic modes like Deathmap and capture the flag. Overall, this is a ...
