    Good Points: Good build quality, excellent paint finish, decent performance comfort and equipment.


    Bad Points: Poor economy, radio and tyre wear. Looks a bit dated. My car is a 2002 on a 52 plate with 42k miles on the clock. In the last year I have had two seized front brake calipres with resultant pad damage. Unsympathetic Lexus GB claim it is not a known problem with this car, although I have now read two other reviews noteing the same problem. So much for their reliability and customer focus!


    General comments: The Lexus is quite good, but I feel that I have been suckered by the myth of Lexus reliability and customer care. The customer care agents make soothing noises, but are no better than any other Manufacturer. I would not buy another one because they are very expensive to run, and I don't like the new IS range.

    This is my second Lexus IS 200 and it's a great car. I would like to make one comment on the service standards of Lexus - In most cases it's OK but having had one particularly bad experience trying to remedy a problem caused by the garage I'm now aware that Lexus's excellent service awards are skewed by the fact that they don't seem to take any notice of complaints and probably don't log them either.
