My family and I go on a vacation twice a year togethr and our first vacation choice was a cruise. We chose the carnival dream after reading about it. So we decided to give liberty travel a play and we were directed to the Union, NJ office and assigned Dorothy. Dorothy from the beginning was fast talker and a Yewah, yeah, Yeah person, dont worry I got you covered. During this entire process she was at times unable to tell us amounts that were paid, give us accurate receipts and in the end the ultimate she messed up our air transporation for my elderly parents, uncle and my aunt that was travelling from a different location that my sister, her family and myself was leaving from. Our port of departure is Orlando, FL. My sister and I got our flights on our own thank goodness and my parents felt more comfortable getting their flights from the travel agency. Dorothy knew that we were leaving from Orlando. I mena why shouldnt she, I mean she is the travel agency. So we were baffled that when my parents, uncle and aunt received their documents it said they were flying into another city that was 3 hours away. MY ELDERLY PARENTS who already have to take a long flight and now have to take a 3 hour ride to the port with arthritis, weak bladders etc?? So once brought to Dorothy attention she was very apologetic, but non accommodating at all. I believe that as a professional travel agent that has been doing this for 20 years or more this was a huge mistate. The office Manager was nonchalant as well but she did try to assist with getting my misrouted family to a closer airport which was now two hours away. They arranged for them to have transportation and gave them a $75. voucher for a complete travel. Which is null and void at this point because our impression of Liverty travel has been tainted by the unprofessionalism and nonchalant attitude that we received from Dorothy services as a seasoned travel agent. To pay over 1100.00 for a trip and receive only a $75.00 voucher is an insult. And with our many quesitons and concerns after the mishap being brought to Dorothy's attention and to receive a very NICETY tone and sarcastic conversation in return to say the least is even more upsetting. We are looking forward to enjoying our vacation together and after we have returned looking into this matter to be compensated just a little bit better for the inconvenience we have received than $75.00. The plan was to all meet up at Orlando Airport and drive to the ship together. Allowing my parents to see their grandchildren reaction to the Boat. We are a family that cruise every other year so we are not oblivious to it at all. This whole exeperience has taken something so sweet, genuine and important to our family and made it into a nightmare. And I thoroughly blame Liberty travel and Dorothy for it all. My prayer is that my parents get to the boat safely. And in spite Liberty travel does something else besides a restricted $75.00 voucher. That is pure ignorance on a company as reputable as Liberty Travel. Becuase of this all of our expenses have changed. My sister and I now have to pay extra for transportation to the boat because 7 of our family members will not even be on our transportation - all because the travel agent did not thoroughly do her job. And when my brother in law brings this to Dorothy attention that we as well should receive some kind of compensation for our services being interrupted as well...she says, they are not paying for transportation so they should reimburse you...SMH!!! Still Rude in spite of all that she has done to our vacation. Thanks Liberty travel and your incompetent staff for making our 2010 vacation a nightmare....

“My wife visited there office to buy a package to go to...”

My wife visited there office to buy a package to go to Miami. My wife specifically asked the agent that we want a hotel on the beach. She sent us to a hotel on the bay (no beach)- 30 minutes away from beach. I specifically asked the agent before we paid if the prices include taxes- she said yes. When we got to the hotel, it turns out that the prices are without the taxes- that was an additional $80 a day. Also, when I checked on expedia, the exact same trip was $500 cheaper. The reason people still go to travel agents is to get good advice from professionals. The people I dealt with gave us terrible advise and made our trip (which I paid a fortune for) a misery.

I booked a surprise trip for my husband and I. At the time I was told about the travel insurance plan and how wonderful it was, that if for any reason I needed to cancel the trip I would be covered in full, less the price of the insurance, so I purchased it. I became pregnant and was too sick to travel and had to cancel the trip. They basically told me that, it was too bad, that I was not severe enough to be covered under their policy. Needless to say that, I was never told this when I called to tell them, I assume because I had not made the final payment on the trip. Only when I had to cancel because I was having a terrible time with my pregnancy, did they tell me that I wasn't covered. They told me to make the final payment in the event I was able to go and if not, I had the insurance and could cancel right up to the day of departure.
What a load of rubbish!
They took the full amount of the trip from me, over $2000 and never offered any kind of compensation and they were rude on top of it all!
