“Made up damage”

Written on: 23/08/2017 by Russssssssssssssssssssssss (1 review written)

Told one price on web site. Sent phone in. Made up damage on my phone when sent it in and offerd less than half the price previously offered. Not very good service. I would not use again, better to just sell old phones on ebay… Read Full Review

“Account access difficult”

Written on: 22/08/2017 by DanCHodges (1 review written)

So the price of my phone went down from 35 to 5 pounds. For such a reduction it gives a one line explanation in the email, something ambiguous about a raised screen. My main issue being that to review the assessment you had to login to an account for which you're never clearly told how to get the password. Of course no such issue accepting the much reduced price - this has a direct link from the email… Read Full Review

“Ok... could be better”

Written on: 02/08/2017 by 208Ogle (1 review written)

I was originally told a quote of £110 for my iPhone 6. I then received an email saying the screen was lifting so could only be £45. I am pretty sure there was no screen lifting, I saw no evidence of it prior to it being sent. Overall disappointing. I only didn't ask for the phone back as I could not be bothered with the hassle of paying the postage and organising it. Payment was quick though, which is positive… Read Full Review

“Put my imei number in of my old iPad, was told right...”

Written on: 17/05/2017

Put my imei number in of my old iPad, was told right away it was worth £80. I thought why not get it sold then.. it's had screen protector on from day I bought it, and not a mark on it. Few days after they had received it they told me the screen was nackered and I think they said it had come away from the iPad!! I knew this was a load of rubbish! They said it was now worth £30 and did I want to proceed with the payment! I did proceed with it as I just wanted rid of it as I no longer use it!… Read Full Review

“Promises you can't keep”

Written on: 25/04/2017

Having used Mazuma before, I decided to use them again to sell my old iPhone 6S, even though the price quoted was less than offered elsewhere. I chose the bank transfer as the payment method, as it was promised the payment would be made on the same day as my phone was received by Mazuma. My phone was received on Monday, before the deadline for same day transfers of 2pm (my tracking details said it was received just after 9am), and I am still awaiting the promised 'same day funds' more than 24… Read Full Review

“Said phones were faulty and offered pence!”

Written on: 27/02/2017 by Sincerei244 (1 review written)

We sent three phones in total to Maxuma and they said the two that were ok were faulty. The one I said was faulty I got £22 for and exactly the same phone that still worked they decided was faulty and offered me £16 for. How does this make sense? Very disappointed as it has caused me so much hassle, I could have just traded in my old working phone for £80, and they offered me £16, definitely won't be using them again, or recommending them to anyone else… Read Full Review

“Terrible!!”

Written on: 19/02/2017 by Priscillas96 (1 review written)

I was originally offered £50 for my iPhone 5C that was in working condition. I watched the video to ensure my phone met the criteria for what Mazuma said a working phone was. However, within a few days I received an e-mail saying they could only offer me £10 due to my phone having a 'raised screen'. What is a raised screen? I was unaware of this problem myself and it had been my phone for a number of years! If the phone had a raised screen would that not be the manufacturers fault? This was… Read Full Review

“Very disappointed and wouldn't use again”

Written on: 15/02/2017 by PeterHumphrey (1 review written)

Offered less than Envirofone but couldn't get Envirofones website to work so went with Mazuma. They offered £140 but once they got the phone which they said was due to a small white blemish at the top left of the screen they reduced it to £50. I agree that the blemish was there but didn't feel it warranted a 65% reduction on the quote as the iPhone 6 was working perfectly. I was warned that they have a habit of doing this on the higher priced phones by a friend. I was given the opportunity to… Read Full Review

“Was working but now it's not when it arrived with you.”

Written on: 29/10/2016 by kkSmith101 (1 review written)

I send a working iPhone 5 in the most flimsy plastic envelope you provided and if my magic I get a report back saying it's now faulty and my agreed money is reduced to a much lower level, it was working fine when it left me!!!. I also sent at the same time a iPad 3 which was broken/faulty. I stated it was 16gb when I knew it was a 32gb just to test this system. Do you know you didn't pick that one up and you didn't adjust the payment inline with a faulty 32gb price. No I'm not happy as if and… Read Full Review

“First time disappointed with Mazuma”

“Undervalued ”

Written on: 13/04/2016 by EmilianoLowe (1 review written)

Reduced my phone from £35 to £10 for a missing charger flap. Their own terms stated a working phone must not have screen damage etc understandably but to knock 65% off price offered is ridiculous. Afterwards I looked on other recycling sites and they would have not reduced by such a significant amount. Last time I use these… Read Full Review

Thanks for your review and sorry to hear you are unhappy with our service.

We're afraid without knowing who you are your order order number it's difficult for us to comment specifically on the phone you sold.

Our website does explain devices cannot have any missing parts. Although a missing charging port cover may seem insignificant, most water proof phones are not water proof without one fitted. Some covers are also very labour intensive to replace.

We hope this helps.

“Very disappointed”

Written on: 26/03/2016 by charfrates (1 review written)

I have used Mazuma several times before and had never had any problems. This time, they offered £20 for my dad's Sony Xpedia, which he'd barely used, and I was quite happy to accept as it's quite a few years old now and sent the phone off to them. I was then emailed by Mazuma, who said they were now offering £3 because the camera was faulty. I knew this was blatantly false as we'd taken pictures with it only a few weeks before on my mum's birthday, so I opted to have it returned. It was… Read Full Review

Thank you.

We can confirm that the Sony Xperia Z was classed as Faulty due to having a faulty rear camera. If you look closely, you will see there is a black mark in the camera lens. This will be mostly visible if you point the camera to a white background.

Unfortunately, the entire camera module requires replacing in order to repair.

We hope this helps.

I've looked very closely, and there is not a black mark. I've also taken the same handset to Envirofone this morning, who offered me £22 and couldn't seem to find a fault on the camera either.

Sorry Mazuma, I've lost all faith and will advise my friends and family to be very careful with who they choose to recycle their handsets with in future.
