“They're claiming my phone is stolen...”

when I bought it from Car Phone Warehouse brand new, and have never reported as lost or stolen myself. They have quarantined it and that is that. They won't double check the IMEI number to make sure it is correct, they won't discuss the details of the quarantine - nothing. Apparently Mazuma can't discuss the details, the spurious database (CheckMend) they use (and act upon) can't/won't help. Mazuma Mobile support and adhere to the 'Stop Stolen Mobiles Being Recycled' code of practice set by the Home Office and the National Mobile Phone Crime Unit.

We cannot purchase any mobile phones which are registered lost or stolen.

If your phone is registered lost/stolen, we would have emailed you requesting that you contact CheckMEND in order to have the records cleared. We are more than happy to recheck your IMEI number at your request. Please bear in mind that due to data protection reasons, we do not have access to certain details of your lost/stolen records. Provided the phone rightfully belongs to you, CheckMEND will be able to provide you with all the information required to clear your records.

Once the lost/stolen records are clear, simply contact us and we'll recheck the IMEI and make full payment.

The Police use a database called the NMPR which is linked to CheckMEND. The police are well aware of the CheckMEND database.

If you require further help or information, please contact us or let us know what your order number is.

“lazy and totally unreliable”

I got a quote of £90 and my phone was in perfect working order with no major cracks or problems,when they received my phone they e-mailed to say it had a faulty touchscreen and offered £30 which I refused as I knew there was nothing wrong with my phone.they have since returned it and the only thing wrong with it was the battery had died,once charged it works perfectly-very angry with there lazy service trying to cheat me out of money.I'm now selling my phone on eBay to get the money it's… Read Full Review

“Lied about broken phone to cut down value!!!”

Have used mazuma before for £80 old iphone - they were great, no problem. Sent off my 32gb iphone 5 with the promise of £205. Got an email to say it had a faulty SIM card reader and they would give me £80 for it. I called and spoke to a very snotty woman who tried to tell me I sent them a phone that won't read a SIM card which is ridiculous as it was fine 3 days earlier when I sent it. “Being paid a fraction of what originally offered ”

I was originally offered £80 for my iPhone which then dropped to £25. Quite obviously why would I be happy with that. Offered £75 less than a well known retail game store as phone was in mint condition. Why did I send it to Mazuma - I'm sure you're asking? “Feel completely Conned!”

I was raving about Mazuma only a week ago when I sent my old smashed up phone in and received £35 for it. I have then sent in an iPad 2 in excellent condition, full working order and looks great. As I really cared for it. I also know it was in excellent condition as I was using it right up until I sent it in. We can confirm that the iPad we received from you had a defective screen. There were white marks in the LCD screen. Unfortunately, the screen will need to be replaced.

Apple iPads are expensive to repair, so the price we can pay for a Faulty iPad is much lower than a fully working one.

As you have stated, we gave you the option to have the iPad returned to you free of charge but you chose to accept the Faulty value.

We are sorry that your iPad was faulty and that we were unable to pay you the full working price.

No it doesn't.........

It WAS fully working! The "apple iphone " I sent you was completely smashed up but you paid £35 for that,. You gave me £50 for a fully operational ipad, just £15 more than a smashed up apple iphone. I don't understand your reasoning.

You can see why I am skeptical of your judgement and reasoning. I was surprised and delighted to get £35 for a smashed up iphone of course I was expecting a better result from an ipad 2 in great condition.

I am sure you appreciate my need to voice my opinion. Yes I was given the option to decline your offer, but mazuma is suppose to be the easy simple option. If I wanted to go through dealing with postage and selling online I would have gone to eBay.

But no worries you live and learn and I will know next time.

We're afraid the iPad was not fully working. It had a defective LCD screen. Our website clearly states the LCD screen must be fully working and have no damage such as Cracks, Pixel damage, Pressure marks (faint white blotches) or any other defects.

We can confirm that the two Blackberry Curve 8520s received from you were water damaged. Most phones have a litmus indicator which turns red when exposed to liquid or high concentrations of moisture. Unfortunately, the indicator on your phones was red which indicates that they are water damaged. Although water damaged phones may appear to work, they require extensive repair in order to be safely reused. As detailed on our website, we cannot accept water damaged phones as working.
We emailed you a revised 'Faulty' offer with the option to accept the value or have the phones returned free of charge. You accepted the value and we made payment on the same day.
Please also note that the 0845 Argos activation line is charged at local rate and is not a premium rate number.

I only accepted the Faulty offer based on that i couldn't be bothered with going through it all over again. As for the Argos voucher when you are only offered £4.40 even at local rate and as i don't have a land-line and with ther many options you have to go through to keep you on the line for as long as possible it wipe out any bonus and some of what little i received.

“They spam and use language to suit themselves”

Although Mazuma provide a very efficient service which is convenient to use, the price they are actually offering for technology is far below market value. As to their customer services they seem more concerned with giving you the runaround rather than providing service to customer.
