“They robbed me”

I sent my iphone 5 which was in perfect condition and unlocked and i was supposed to be receiving £105. However, when i received my check they only give me £27 and said that it was faulty when it was not! Sent them an iPhone 4s unlocked, had for just over a year and always been fully protected, offered £65 which was OK. Had an email back 2 days later to say it was faulty and offered £10! “Claimed phone was faulty”

Sent my phone to Mazuma as they were offering a good amount to buy it. Was told the next day that the phone was faulty and they were dramatically reducing the amount by £90. The phone was not faulty at all, I had kept it in perfect condition for 2 years, which made me think they were lying. If you find yourself on the website and want to be paid cheque or direct transfer you can be trapped into selecting an Argos voucher. If that happens they will take no notice of your complaint. They won't look at the way the website operates or how it can you trap you and they won't listen to your complaint let alone consider a return of your voucher. We offer 3 methods of payment - Cheque, Bank Transfer or Argos Voucher. We make selecting your payment method very clear on our website. The payment method selected is confirmed several times during the online process and again by email.

We are able to change the payment method at any time up until payment is issued. As explained on our site, we are unable to change the payment method once payment has been made.

There is absolutely no benefit to us whether customers choose Argos payment over cheque or bank transfer. We pass all of our 10% Argos discount on to the customer.

We hope this helps and hope you are able to make good use of your Argos voucher. Please note the voucher can also be used in any Homebase store.

I sent a perfectly working samsung s3 to yourselves,you offer 70pounds. You then tell it doesnt boot up correctly which wasnt the case when i sent it and now i have 30pounds in my bank account instead of 70. I did not want the hassle of sending mazuma sending it back so decided to cut my losses. Complete shambles and i will never use mazuma again. Thanks for nothing. “Took £55 off the original offer!”

They received a phone in full working order with a small crack on the back which the site advertises as no penality. Was advised it was due to a small spec of dust under the screen. If there is its not visible to the naked eye! I previously used another company who have been great but on this occasion offered £5 less. Inshould have stuck with them instead. We can confirm that your iPhone 4s was classed as Faulty due to having a defective LCD screen. There were white marks in the display.

We emailed you a revised offer with the option to have your phone returned free of charge. You accepted the revised offer and we made immediate payment.

Wasn't sure if phone was locked/unlocked. So got a quote for both and both were the same £160. I got phone from phones 4 you and as they no longer trade couldn't ask. So to be safe thought was safer to put unlocked. Then cheque came through for £30 less than quoted and yes you guessed it ... Phone was locked and they took £30 for the mistake. The prices we pay for iPhones are dependant on whether the phone is unlocked or locked to a particular network. If an iPhone sold as 'unlocked' is found to be locked, we would always email the customer the revised price with the option to have the phone returned free of charge if they were unhappy with the revised value.

very disappointing. offered me a big sum to draw me in, and advised me it would be wise to pay extra postage for the insurance cover, as otherwise it wouldn't be enough. Then when Mazuma received the 'phone, they claimed it had water damage, and came down from £105 to £30. To my knowledge the phone had never been damaged in any way, it was kept in a protective case and really looked after. Our website does state: "LCD screen must be fully working and have no damage such as Cracks, Pixel damage, Pressure marks (faint white blotches) or any other defects. Scratches and wear & tear are acceptable."

Ive sold mony phones to mazuma and the service I normally recieve is fantastic - Send the phone on monday and the money is in the bank of the wednesday , Again this time i received the normal great service , However I was giving a "faulty" Price for my Galaxy S4 which is only 6 months due to The camera glass was missing however the camera WAS NOT damaged in any way...however mazuma took 95 Quid of the price of the handset , yet this would cost max f £10 to fix in a shop...Scandalous service… Read Full Review

The touchscreen of a Samsung Galaxy S4 is part of the LCD screen and should not be separated. In order to repair the entire glass and LCD screen needs to be replaced as it is supplied from Samsung as one part.

I was quoted £70 for my iPhone 4s which I considered reasonable value for my old phone. However, once my phone had been received I was informed that my screen had a tiny (and I mean tiny) White mark on it and that the offer would be reduced to £30! The Agros voucher seemed like a good idea, I was wrong, they don't just send you a voucher , you have to ring local rate phone number(thats not cheap on mobiles) with numerous activation codes/cards numbers just to get your voucher activated, as yet I can't be bothered with all the faffing about. We issue an Argos card that needs to be activated once received. This avoids your card being spent if lost in the post. The activation process simply requires you to call an Argos 0345 number and tap in the Argos reference number we emailed you. The 0345 number is not a premium rate number.

“Reduced offer, I think not”

iPhone serviced by Apple store less than a week before upgrading to a 5s. Battery replaced by Apple and confirmed in all working order. Mazuma state faulty LCD. Are they better than Apple? I think not. There is nothing wrong with phone. They stated you can see white spots on the screen when viewing on a white background. How does that work? That mobile is in perfect working order.
