Not cheap - but you have to pay for quality. Lovely atmosphere, like your dinning in the owners home. Warm and cosy with a real open fire. If you want to celebrate and spend a little on a good meal THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME.

The service at The Chequers was excellent, we dined in the evening and had a choice of 3 menus; pasta/a la carte/or very good value 3 course for £13.90. I am told the real ale changes weekly and there was ample choice of wines by the glass. We looked at the lunch menu for future reference; simple things like baguettes/salads/jackets or a 3 course for £10.90 were available.
