Good Points: Unique publication, extremely useful - saves loads of time and hundreds of pounds. Well set out and indexed.
Bad Points: Will need updating every couple of years to keep content fresh. Little information on Northern Ireland.
General comments: Last year I finished at Uni and found myself needing a whole new wardrobe of clothes and furnishings for a new pad. My friend gave me a copy of The Official Great British Factory Shop Guide and I can honestly say it was one of the most useful presents ever.
The guide covers the whole of Great Britain and gives details of over 1000 factory shops, each with savings of upto 75%. Not like commercialised factory outlets, these factory shops offer genuine bargains but rarely advertise so no one knows about them. This gem of a book lets you into the secret and tells you where they are!
You can search for shops by area of the country, factory name or products sold. I was amazed by all the different items you could buy at factory prices - everything from designer shoes to chocolate biscuits, via power tools and dehumidifiers!!!!
Based on the original guide series by Gill Cutress and Rolf Stricker, the guide has been completely updated. There is also an accompanying website: www.factoryshopguide.com where you can get loads of great tips on factory shopping.
I would recommended this book to all bargain hunters and in fact anyone who would prefer not to pay full price on a huge range of items (isn't that everyone?!)
