Having had this Toshiba HD-E1 DVD player for three weeks now I can safely say my initial enthusiasm was Well Justified. It just hasn ' t ceased to impress me. It is just Awesome. Full stop. The clarity detail and colour this device brings out of DVDs has to be seen to be fully appreciated. I have read somewhere that the reviewer thought some of the pictures it produced boardend on 3D like imagery . he Wasnt exaggerating. i have seen that in some scenes as well espically using the Contrast... The lack of 1080p output on the Toshiba HD-E1 is fine with me as my plasma can only display up to 1080i. Gutted at the lack of region 1 s/d dvd but in general very pleased with the performance. The price is now very low, so now's a good time to dive in as the price is right. Bogging shame Block Buster video don't rent HD DVD's. (read more)
