“Maybe one of the best shark movies!”

    ★★★☆☆

    written by saintgileshighgate on 05/07/2012

As soon as you see the first scene you'll understand that the main point of this film is to show the sharks as much as possible. However, the plot is quite original and the sharks look fairly realistic. Then, most people read too much into the fact that the sharks are smart. For example, they believe that the sharks do everything on purpose, like the scene where they put the cook into his own oven. In my opinion, the shark didn't mean to turn the oven on. Also, I'd say that I found this movie satisfying as it shows off a lot of gory and interesting deaths which gave me a lot of fun. But, and this is a big but, many scenes are just impossible or not relevant to the rest of the film: how could a huge shark go through normal doors or swim in shallow water? So do not take this movie too seriously.

“When Deep Blue Sea started, the opening scene gave me...”

    ★★★★★

When Deep Blue Sea started, the opening scene gave me the impression the film was just going to be another one of those films that are pointless. I was so wrong. I decided to carry on watching it and by the middle of it I was so involved, on the edge of my seat and entertained that I couldn't believe it. I have watched this film so many times. The scene where they are in the room with the massive glass window and the shark rams into it and the glass cracks to open the whole of the ocean into the room they are in involves so much suspense it is unbelievalbe. I suppose the idea of the film is a little stupid, sharks rarely attack humans, but very intellectual sharks? Anyway, the characters are really cool, some of them you so don't want to die, like the funny chef that's really entertaining and funny which the film needs.
