If you are looking for a recovery service then this is a cheap option, if you are expecting a breakdown service then forget it! The power steering drive belt snapped on my 5 year old Ford Mondeo, Green flag did honour their promise to attend in just over 1 hour but with only a recovery vehicle. The driver had been instructed to transport my vehicle to their base some 20 miles away where I would have been given a loan car and my car moved to a repairer of my choice or to my home (120 miles away). Despite a further call to Greenflag they would not entertain trying to arrange a repair. I managed to get the recovery company (who were great) to move my Mondeo to a local repair centre where once the new belt had arrived it was fitted and I was on my way again after 15 minutes at a cost of £37! What a rediculous waste of time and money spent on an unnecessary recovery, its back to the AA for me at renewal time!!

Green Flag free through Churchill Insurance. What a good deal - or so I thought until today 8 Oct. I was unable to demobilise the immobiliser through central locking so unable to start car. Green Flag called, turned up in good time and advised couldn't repair, but would cost about £160 at nearest garage. I stopped, thought about the same thing happening a couple of years previous. AA fixed it within 2 minutes. Called AA, took out policy there and then for £132.50. Excellent s ...

I wish I'd known that Green Flag don't carry diagnostic devices to plug into the cars (at least in London SW) or I'd never signed up with them.

A complete waste of money because they have no diagnostic equipment and since every car is based on a computer they are unable to diagnose faults at the roadside.

I've gone straight back to Audi Assist (RAC) and cancelled the Green Flag policy with 9 months remaining on it losing the full cost of the policy as it was completely inadequate. They should ...

Accident 05/08/2009 Green Flag Breakdown came late by half an hour picked car up left me disabled person with 2 kids at the side of the road, had to make our own way home. on complaining I was offered twenty pounds to cover taxi fare home.
They say its not there fault its the insurance company.
I don't know what I would have done if they had left me at the side of a motorway.

I have my European breakdown with Green Flag, few years back one of my vans was traveling in France around Lyon( about 450 miles away from Calais) when it broke down, however after contacting GF direct in UK they 've told me that the repatriation after 250 miles(Paris area) will not be possible styraight away I have to wait around a month untill they will have a car trasporter filled up!

What an absolute shower -Green Flag took forever to come out , then couldnt be bothered doing anything and turned out to be a simple repair. Wouldnt touch them with a bargepole.

Stupid me thinking cheap is best... it isnt and you dont want to find ths out at 2 in the morning.

Would love to be able to give a positive review of Green Flag Breakdown Cover, however - i was tempted to join via an on-line offer promising £10 cashback from Green Flag if I joined. (via Internet Cashback) Needless to say, they didn't honour the offer, took the full joining fee, and have never paid the cashback. Several emails to their custoemr services department asking for an explanation have gone unanswered. Not exactly the sort of behaviour you expect from a National company...

We recently broke down on a trip with our 3 children round london. Although we have had full cover for a few years this was the first time we needed to use it. The call took only a few minutes and a local company came out within 40 mins, which was brillaint as wasnt parked in a very safe spot with kids. I would highly rate these with no fault at all. Our car couldnt be fixed so we were towed back to southampton again all simple and quick. Thankyou greenflag for helping us

Have been with these for about 2 years - initially ok - however in this last year have had several experiences which has totally changed my mind. I will now never touch Green Flag with a barge pole!! Most of difficulties arise from telephone staff - not listening to problem and sending technician with no idea what is required and then not equipped to deal with a minor fault that required a jack and a cable tie!! came with only a recovery vehicle "that was what I was told"
    I have had several ...

My Range Rover was damaged on a caravan site in Dorset; I called Green Flag to arrange collection of the vehicle and caravan and to transport them to my home in Liverpool. Less than 30 minutes after my call I was contacted by a local garage with the information that a flatback transporter was on its way to me.
We were on our way home about 75 minutes after my first call, I consider this to be exceptional service, because of the distance and the hours it would take it was arranged that we wou ...

Been with Greenflag Breakdown Cover for years, they covered both our cars, my husbands motorcycle and my ford transit horsebox. Never used them at all until the horsebox broke down, no horse inside luckily! Took them ages to understand that I had a coachbuilt body bolted onto the transit tipper chasis but we got there after the 8th call. advised driver would be with us in an hour. Two and half hours later he arrives. It'd overheated and run out of water. Chap topped us up and we went on our way ...

Green Flag's no-callout discount means that drivers with reliable cars are rewarded - every year with Green Flag your breakdown cover will reduce in cost if you haven ' t called them out.Like its competitors, Green Flag offers a range of packages to suit all drivers. At the lower 'Rescue' end, the Green Flag offering appears fairly similar to the AA and RAC's basic products. However, if you are looking for a premium product that offers features such as cover for onward travel (e.g. the AA's 'Rel ...

Green Flag have very poor customer services once you get past the initial poor souls that answer the phones. They take no responsability for the actions of the sub contractors even thought it impacts on their customers.

It would take so long to comment on my experience with Green Flag Breakdown, and also with me still being in negotiations I feel silence is a must, but at the right I'd be more than willing to advise and hopefully safeguard others from similar circumstances to what I have witnessed.

Puncture outside my house so called Greenflag. Answered call straight away in a UK call centre. The person I spoke to was friendly and seemed to know what she was talking about. She explained they would probably be able to fix it at the roadside but if for some reason they couldn't was there any garage in particular I would want towed to? I got a text message with the name of the company responding and an estimated arrival time (so I could go back inside and have a cuppa). The recovery agent tur ...

I purchased my Green Flag breakdown cover over the phone. I explained that I cover over 30,000 miles a year. So the rep sorted out the policy that best suited my needs. When I did breakdown (about 8 months into my cover!). I was about 15 miles away from home when I called them. The operator told me that I was only covered within a 10 mile radius of my home. As I had no cash on me, the Driver would have to make a diversion to a nearest cashpoint! To make a withdrawal they were going to charge me ...

I would recommend Green Flag to anyone. First class service. Having had cause to use Green Flag twice this month I can say the service they provided me with was second to none. I was looked after quickly on both occassions.
