    Good Points: Solid comfortable, cruises well. Outstanding MPG and low depreciation.


    Bad Points: Cost of VW Servicing.


    General comments: I have had the VW Golf Plus for almost 2 years now and done 18K miles. No rattle, nothing fallen off, no light bulbs failed and one service. The service was outrageous and I went up noth rather than stay in the Thames Valley and saved £100. It still cost £200 though. A very good ride and it looks just like it did when it arrived. The interior is very well constructed and I think I'm going to keep it for quite a few years. Handling is much better than the MK4 golf I had before and the 140 BHP engine seems to have the right balance. In my humble opinion it's a car you buy and keep rather than dabble with, otherwise save your money and buy a car with a cheaper build.
