My previous car was a 407 2.0 ST Comfort. I thought that was a brilliant car until I bought the 407 2.0 HDI Auto. I have never owned a car like this! Stunning to look at, very economical and a pleasure to drive. All the "bells and whistles" too. Best car I ever owned. I do have two negative comments though. 1. The overhang of the nose is too long and too close to the ground. I can't even get into my driveway without scraping the ground 2. The car should have ventilated brake discs. Mine only last 7 -9000kms before I have to skim or replace them.

I find the 407 hdi s.e. the best all round car I have ever owned, its comfortable, powerful, very well equipt, very economical plus 5 star safety rating, could'nt ask for better. the only downsides, its a fairly firm ride at slow speed and the screen post causes a blind spot especially on roundabouts

My car is a peugeot 407 2.0 HDi SV with 35k on the clock. The opening rear windscreen rattles, the brakes squeal when braking lightly and I've had a new 'bit' fitted under warranty to do with a 'depollution control valve'. I just had 4 new tyres and had trouble getting them balanced as the hole in the middle of the wheel is too small for most balancing machines.
On the plus side, the car is great to drive and very comfortable. It is very quiet, despite being a diesel and achieves excellnt fuel ...
