Question: Is a Honda car reliable and value for money?
Answer: Not really.
Approaching 70k miles, it is starting to fall apart!
Bush on front wheel linkage has worn causing premature tyre wear(£210); Tailgate electrical catch failed ( £450 plus £70 diganostic charge via Honda); Flywheel is failing with an estimate of £1,500 to fix. Honda should be ashamed of themselves.
The Honda is being chopped in. The next car will either be a Ford or a Vauxhall. They are just as reliable and offer far… Read Full Review

I bought this Diesel Accord as a long term car to use for business but after 6 months the clutch was slipping slightly intop (6th) gear. I let this go and lived with it. It hasn't got much worse but as my warranty was running out I thought I would enquire with Honda about replacng it. I wrote to Honda first and when they eventually replied they toldme to take it to the dealer. Fair enough so I called them to enquire about the problem and immediately sensed a defensive tone. They admitted tha… Read Full Review

I'm going through the same flywheel issues with the Honda Accord 2.2 i-CTDi Sport 4dr as the reviewer above.
I don't drive the accord hard or drive on the clutch, but I've just paid the £2000 bill for replacing the flywheel and clutch. Having read up a bit it seems a common problem on this model. In hind site, I would have gone for something different… Read Full Review

Car: 2005 Honda Accord i-ctdi 2005. getting partexed today. :-) good riddance.
Had my car for nearly 4 years, putting 50k on the clock. I have had problems with this car, fixing some under manufacturers warranty, like corrosion on alloys, misting headlights, however once the honda was out of manufacturers, but still covered under honda extended warranty, the clutch started to slip. I took it to Honda, who want £650 just for inspecting, then if it is down to manufacturers problem they will… Read Full Review

I have this car as a company car. I do 65,000 miles per year. My car is now a year old. This has been the best car I have ever owned! Build quality is excellent with no squeaks or rattles after 65k. Engine is brilliant offering excellent economy if driven sensibly. I frequently get 44mpg on long trips at motorway speed. When driven hard, economy falls rapidly, with 34 mpg recorded on a trip from Berlin to Aachen, though cruising at 110 - 120 most of the time… Read Full Review
