Good Points: I've had mine for nearly two years now and works brilliantly. All the major problems reported elsewhere had been ironed out through firmware updates. I bought a Panasonic model previously and it was rubbish. and returned it a week later. The Toppy is fantastic, you can record two programmes whilst watching a third!
Bad Points: You need to be a bit adept at connecting your Toppy to a PC for firmware/software updates (search for toppy forums on web) via a USB connector. Nothing complicated but if you can't program a VCR then you won't get the best out of this machine.
General comments: The Topfield TF5800PVRS gives reliable programme recording, doesn't miss recordings - just make sure you're using the recommended software from the toppy forums. I have the 160Gb model and the disk is nearly full of recorded films/mp3 albums and photos to show guests etc.

The Topfield TF5800PVRS Hard Drive Recorder is well worth the money. 250Gb Hard disc gives over 130hrs of recording and cost about £260. An absolute bargain and the Toppy.org.uk website is great for tips and free software addons.- Read lozzer's review (57 words)
