I bought the LG 42 LCD for my husband as a Christmas present. I was worried that because I managed to get it at a really good price it wouldnt work very well. I did do some online research on the model first though and it looked fairly sound so I went with my instinct and bought it.

The TV was quick and easy to set up, and the picture and sound quality are perfect for our needs. I can't actually think of anything that isn't good about it so lets just hope that the lifespan of the product is... (read more)

Bought LG 42 LCD, unpacked from box, powered up for 15 seconds, then switched itself off. Returned to shop, got another - unpacked turned on, tv switched itself off after 15 seconds again. Took 3 evenings and 80 miles of driving to and from shop. Googled model, found many simular problems with power supply - Avoid Avoid Avoid. Bought Sony works great. (read more)

This LG has performed out of the box for the last 12 months very reliably and presented excellent quality.

Remember that the glass used in LCD's that include the LCD imaging technology is only manufactured by 5 manufacturers in the world, even Sony up until recently do not manufacture their glass. LG glass is one of one of the 5.

An HD sat box produces stunning pictures. I would however make the point that the contrast ratio is not as high as can be found today, particularly with the... (read more)

LG 42lc2d - Intermitant fault, ( loses the picture , leaving sound only. I am now led to believe that it is a power supply problem, so taking it in to engineer to be fixed. Avoid LG as this seems to be a common fault over their LCD range (read more)
