My wife pointed it out in the paper , she,d never seen one, l said I wouldn't be seen dead in one. But she persuaded me to take her to see it ,.y reg 74 thou genuine miles, started it up and have to say the engine sounded so sweet I started to give it the benefit of the doubt . We went for a test run and fell hook line and sinker, they just do every thing you ask of them , no complaints. We went to cornwall from yorkshire and it got 4 of us and all our camping gear and clothes down there and it… Read Full Review

Bought 1.9JTD from New and I would buy another if they made the bug eyed design. Multipla is definately a grower, it never fails to let you down and is the ultimate in practicality. Only car that comes close currently is the Honda FRV. Had discs replaced, cambelt, clutch and flywheel, bottom front arms are a weak point also only regular wear and tear. The 1.9 JTD handles fantastic for a big car and 0-60 in just over ten secs feels quick. Great, comfy cruiser. BUY ONE!… Read Full Review

Bought our Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD ELX new (Sep 2000). 2 years later we emigrated to New Zealand and took it with us. We still have it (Mar 2009 at 90,000 miles) - this is a testament to our car's practicality, economy & reliability.
In 9 years the repairs have been : New Front Discs (73,000 miles); New Drivebelt (74,000 miles); New Clutch (75,000 miles); New Glow Plugs (85,000 miles). Cam Belt was replaced at 85,000 miles.
General question for the vehicle manufacturers : Why, since Henry Ford… Read Full Review

The Fiat Multipla is a design classic - no other car that I have driven fulfils the need to transport up to 6 people + luggage in quite the same way. For example, the vertical sides give plenty of shoulder room and stop drips from landing on the seats in the rain. The 3x3 seating gives a short car that, width allowing, is easy to manoevre. The space frame chassis gives a low centre of gravity, and the firm suspension and the width add up surprisingly fun handling. And while minor bits have… Read Full Review

Owned the car for nearly five years. Bought it at nearly three years old. Had most if not all the known regular problems. When they go wrong they are a pain like any car, but when they go right, fortunately most of the time, they are better than anything else like it on the road. When your used to the width thewy are easy to park being short, they tow well as the wheelsare at each corner and they sit squat to the road. Unlike normal people carriers thessuspension is firm so even fully laden… Read Full Review

The Fiat Multipla is an excellent family car - would highly recommend and buy again ourselves. We had no problem getting part for our car through independent servicing garage - i.e not Fiat servicing, though have found the fiat garage that we did use for first three years (warranty!!) very helpful. The car is a dream to drive. The exterior does take some getting used to but onc e inside you forget about it! And it kind of grows on you! Our boys love the view from the extra large windows -… Read Full Review

My Fiat Multipla 1.9 JTD ELX has been off the road for 3 months awaiting spares from Italy. The parts are expected to arrive in another 5 weeks. I doubt that they will ever materialize. This is a current model, not some obscure model from the 30's.
Engine required a total rebuild at 20,000 miles. Buy a Honda FRV or a Ford, or an Iso Grifo (probably get the spares quicker), or a Facel Vega… Read Full Review

It was with some trepidation that I sold my 2001 Jaguar 3.2 XJ8 Sport for a 2004 diesel Multipla, albeit a top of the range Mk1. Having taken early retirement my role was now to be chief babysitter for 2 granddaughters and the immaculate cream leather Jag interior was decidedly at risk!!
I got good deals on both the Jag and Multipla and I rapidly became a Multipla Mk1 fan. I love its looks. I like 'quirky' and the Mk1 is unlike any other MPV on the road. I used to wonder why people were… Read Full Review

When i first considered a Fiat Multipla i was worried what i was letting myself in for.As being from a large family and with plenty of friends i was expecting people to take the p**s out of me for owning such a lovely looking car,but i can honestly say i didn't get one remark. As never owning a Fiat before i always believed that the build quality and engines were very poorly made.My Multipla is 9yrs old and is the JTD diesel version which is the top of the range. Its not got a bit of rust and… Read Full Review

My later version of Fiat Multipla (2005) has been quite a surprise to me. So far (49000 miles) no problems. Besides reliability, it's economical, spacious, light and comfortable. Been back and forwards to continent with luggage and passengers many times - great to get 6 people in comfort. No other MPV can do that. Didn't expect this from Fiat… Read Full Review

I got the Fiat Multipla because I needed a people carrier to carry five children. Although every man alive has an opinion about it's exterior looks, inside it is the best car I have ever driven. Motorway driving is smooth and comfortable. All seats recline so sleeping on long journeys is easy for all five passengers… Read Full Review

For some reason i feel I like the Multipla. It's everything I dont want to like but it has a practicality and charm all of its own! It's like falling in love with an aesthetically challenged woman! But it's economic versatile and just loves to please. I had a crank sensor go at 30,000 miles(sensor cost £20 and repair bill £700 courtesy of the dealership and the crank seal leak was still unfixed!). The tracking needs seeing to more often than a Scalextrix car! But cannot deny it is normally… Read Full Review
