It was a very stressful time setting it all up and making the decision to Sort out things...pay plan were helpful in this phase. Things became more difficult at the time of review each year.... Pay plan and any other IVA agency I guess really have you over a barrel, my income dropped but payments increased. I really felt I couldn't make an issue of this as options were default bad therefore bankruptcy or adding extra years onto the arrangement. Neither of these were any good! Right at the end of the agreed term I was told by an advisor that if I was struggling to pay ( I wasn't I just stated that I wanted the agreement to end at the agreed time, I was not able to remortgage due to negative equity) then she would increase the payment term by another year. She quoted a part of the agreement re extensions without including the bit of the agreement just below it where it stated the agreement would end as per the contract if I was In negative equity. This felt to me like it was a deliberate ploy to extend the payment term... This was quickly sorted out by another advisor ....keep hold of the contract , read it and quote it where necessary!

I was in an IVA with Payplan over 2 years ago, I have been awarded PPI from CitiFinancial but have been told that Payplan will get this money minus the interest which I find totally unfair as two of the loans were before my IVA. It has been agreed I am entitled to the interest, considering this has gone on since May as I applied for the PPI myself Payplan have now received the cheque and waiting to clear into my arrangement yet when I ask they cannot give me a timescale when I will receive the money in my bank, surely its just a case of chewue to clear which normally is 5 working days.Payplan have been in contact and answered all my emails but I am now getting to the stage of being very frustrated the length of time this is taking . Can someone advise Thanks

I have had an IVA with Payplan since 2009. I have NEVER FAILED to make monthly payments and I have been pleased with their services until towards the year 2012. During my annual review in November 2012, I was advised to provide receipts to evidence an increased expenditure, which I did for the receipts that I had. As I did not have the receipts for grocery shopping for the year I was unable to evidence how much I spent on food shopping. I explained this to my supervisor and clearly advised that my monthly expenditure varies from month to month and the amount given is only an estimation.I thought this was an acceptable explanation as I later received had a confirmation that they used my last year's expenditure which did not bother me as my priority is to prioritise my IVA monthly payments. However, today 7 June 13, I received a telephone call message from my supervisor to advise that my IVA has failed due to non-compliance!! I was unable to speak directly to my allocated supervisor, her colleague, however was able to access my file. She advised that I have failed to provide supporting evidence to justify increased expenditure. She told me that they have been waiting for this information since January this year-and it's my food shopping and hair monthly expenditure. I found her very abrupt and impatient. Of course I was upset about this decision as I do not believe it warrants a failure especially because I'm on my forth year without a single late/failure of monthly payment? The lady advised that I should have provided my shopping receipts and I am sure if I was advised from the onset that I send my monthly shopping to Payplan I would have done so. I find their decision harsh and unjust and I strongly believe the change of supervisors does not help there was no clear communication and I honestly don't even think there was a proper hand over as many my communication with my previous supervisor was via email. I am very upset and if my IVA was failing because I was not paying my monthly repayments then that would be a very different case. I really believe that on this occasion they have got it wrong.

I have received a 14 day letter that because we have arrears on IVA that the IVA will fail very upset and not happy 2009 IVA started then May 2010 husband had heart attack so had problems paying until returned to work about 6 months then July 2011 husband lost job and was out of work for 5 months so already not had a good few years. Then April 2013 husband been give 45 days notice so might be made redundant I have always told payplan and over the past 6 months fell behind with payments but offered to pay extra 100 pounds to clear account I received letter giving me 3 months but i informed them it will take about 6 months then the fun started I had already told them that husband might be out of work but was still making payment last payment was late and had to pay two months because old job held back his wages but i informed payplan. I feel that because i told the my husband might loss his jobs they are not giving me time to pay back the arrears which with husbands would only take me 7 month or less I am upset because I lent the money and would like to pay it back but they are making this hard as if my IVA fails then i might have to go bankruptcy which I do not want to do as I owe the money then I should pay as much back as I can

I have been placed on a DMP with Payplan and as my debts amount to £19000,I can only afford to pay £100 per month. I bring into question whether I have been advised correctly by Payplan, because I feel that Bankruptcy is the best option!!

When first using Justabank's service having never used such a service before some things were confusing, for example we didn't know that every year the creditors renew their deal and take months over this, resulting in huge amounts of interest added to the accounts. Initialy we thought it was an answer to our problems and after a fixed period of very difficult times we could come out of the end, but with added interest on some of the accounts it looks as if there will be no end. We would have like to have seen the smaller accounts paid off quicker thus seeing some movement on the accounts. It has not prevented letters and phone calls from creditors, but has reduced them.

Initial set up was very good.
Subsequent reviews not so clear. When reviews are allowed other than the annual one, what changes of circumstances allow for reviews.
The allowance guidelines do not seem to be changing in line with inflation - if they are changing at all. VAT and petrol increases have not been reflected.
Repayment of short term loans from family, friends, high street organisations etc need to be taken into consideration as well as they do effect disposable income.
Guidelines do not allow for savings not for holidays or luxury items, but to create a financial buffer for major bills and replacement of expensive items eg white goods and cars.
House and garden maintenance [especially where security is concerned eg windows doors and fences] is not given the appropriate level of consideration. Property maintenance is part of mortgage terms and conditions.
Guidelines do not give consideration to the additional costs of living in rural communities.
To much emphasise on selling insurance - which on investigation has yet to be anywhere near competitive in the cases I have looked at.

I have found Payplan initially very good, However in recent months they have failed to make payments to creditors, causing stress when creditors state putting pressure on through no fault of mine.
This makes my credit rating even worse!
I hope to see some improvement in performance in the future.

Staff are always friendly and helpful, however,my case-officer changes all the time, I don't know if this is a deliberate policy or not, I have had 3 case-officers in less than 3 years.
Post frequently gets lost, staff have now suggested I send documentation e.g. pay-slips to them electronically and hopefully this will help.
The IP / supervisor is a distant and unapproachable figure - he sends a report once a year, apart from that no contact - all queries are filtered by a case-officer, it seems impossible to ever make direct contact with the IP - given the huge fees Pay Plan receive as part of the IVA agreement, this does not feel right.
I think overall Pay Plan provides a good service, but the down-side is it is impersonal and bureaucratic and the client has to do a lot of the work, if you want a more personal and approachable service, a smaller IVA provider might be better.

I WOULD DEFENITELY RECOMEND PAYPLAN WITH THE PEOPLE AND FRIENDS THAT I KNOW HAVE THE SAME FINANCIALLY PROBLEM THAT I HAVE BECAUSE ITS REALLY HELPS AND GIVE YOU A PIECE OF MIND. ESPECIALLY WHEN YOURE GETTING CRAZY TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM, BEGGING THE BANK (LLOYDS BANK TO CONSOLIDATE MY LOAN) BUT WITH NO HELP AT ALL. AND ARE SOME THAT OFFERS HELP BUT THEY CHARGE FEE. SO IAM REALLY PLEASED AND HAPPY WITH THE PAYPLAN.

I have just finished my DMP with Payplan after a number of years and they have been a big help in helping me to become debt free.
The good:
Its a free service.
None judgemental.
One payment to Payplan and they do the rest.
Quick to answer emails.
Most creditors froze interest.
The bad:
Replies to emails tend to be vague, got the feeling of being fobbed off. (maybe they are over busy at the moment).
When you send them information, IE: new account numbers or change of creditor they carry on paying the old one, then ask you if you have heard off them a few months later when payments get returned. I found this happened regular and you needed to tell them of new account numbers at least 3 times before they acted on it. (very frustrating and sometimes incurred charges for none payment)
Different dates for terms were given, when each one came it changed to new date when i asked if it had been completed.
If i had reviewed Payplan in my first 2 years of my DMP i would have given top marks, but things don't seem so slick and efficient has they once were, changes of account managers don't help.

Initially we felt the strengths of using Payplan for our DMP would be beneficial because of being able to easily call upon expertise and have a partner in what is a worrying time.
However, in actual fact we have dealt with some quite poor individuals who made promises to contact which they did not keep. Email seems the only viable form of contact and we have encountered lack of understanding and familiarity with our case.
We feel alone in this DMP system and regularly deal with angry creditors by phone and post instead of through Payplan. Our worries often feel exacerbated not decreased by going this route.

Although there is an extreme wish to assist one in the problems of debt, Payplan pehaps does not have the complete wherewithall to provide a tip top service. In my opinion debt is a complex and worrying issue and needs constant contact both with debtor and creditor. The eagerness to help was appreciated but the speed in carrying a conversation and by a non english representative added complications. Emphasis could have been made on the expected delay in responses from Payplan and its difficulty in communicating with creditors to obtain reasonable solutions.

Considering it's a free service, i guess you can't complain, but they do nothing at all to stop creditors hassling you, they can't stop the interest fees being added, and calling them for advice, if you can actually get through, offers absolutely no help or solutions. I've since learnt an IVA would have been a better solution for me, yet Payplan refused. I also could have joined other debt companies, and paid back a lot less than Payplan said i had to pay, and had interest frozen. All payplan do is pay creditors on my behalf which in the scheme of things is nothing considering i could have paid them back myself, and on time as my creditors always complain payment is late. All in all not a great experience, and shoddy service, but i live for the day i can cease to have anything to do with them. I'm considering now moving on to a different company, as i've been offered better service, and they certainly seem more proactive than Payplan. However, i'm nearing the end in my view despite the fact Payplan keep raising the amount of months i have left, and i'm not sure i want the hassle of moving.

I was very impressed with initial contact and discussions with Payplan. It was stress free, courteous and customer care was excellent. However since Payplan has secured my business the customer care element has diminished somewhat; lack response/acknowledgement of corrospondence, no notification of changes of Case Officers are but examples. The Justabank facility is proactive and informative but it should not be forgotten that this is also a business/marketing facility. It will come as no surprise to say that I am constantly inindated with requests from PayPlan competitors seeking my business but I am wise to such junk mail. Overall I am satisfied with the way PayPlan handle my business but there is always room for improvement.

I am just a bit concerned that no payments have been made to my depts as of yet i have been paying into dept management for nearly a year now and all my creditors havnt submitted information .

If you are concerned that your payments aren't reaching your creditor then contact your case officer as soon as you can and they will be able to provide proof of the payments that have been made to all of them.
