We went to West Bay, Dorset in August 2009. For what we paid the caravan was disgusting. It was unclean and the beds were very uncomfortable. A few days into the holiday we used the vaccum cleaner which there was a dreadful smell and on opening the cleaner there appeared to be 'sick' in it!

My children did enjoy the entertainment but for me and my wife we couldn't wait get home. Stay in Dorset but not here.

The caravan in West Bay Holiday Park, Dorset was old and dirty and did not appear to have been inspected for years. There was mould in every bedroom and one room had grafitti. The tap would not turn off and the outside maintanence door was stuck on with duct-tape. The oven did not heat up to an adequate temperature and the bed was so uncomfortable I was in pain until I went home.

When we complained the 'supervisor' was initially unwilling to give us the name of someone to complain to. I would n ...

We have just come back from a stay at Parkdean Looe Bay and we would not return. Looe, Polperro and surrounding area beautiful.
The caravan was good, but attention to detail on cleaning needed. Although non-smoking, there was a strong smell of smoke for the first 48 hours.
The entertainment complex - particularly children's play area - was looking a little tired. Site was noisy at night and as we were fairly close to the club could hear the thud of the music. Kids evening entertainment OK, ...

All enjoyed our holiday at west bay holiday park and hope to return later this year or next. Well placed for Glasgow, visit to Rothesay and surrounding areas. Don't need to have a car to holiday here as railway station is nearby.

Sandford Holiday Parks is a great family weekend that you can relax and enjoy. My children can go to the club knowing that they were in the safe hand of the hard working troupers. In the evenings they set off down to the club for the entertainment and watch the award winning shows, and enjoy them very much. then they will repeat the next morning with different entertainment!!!There are no bad points that we found on our family weekend off!!!I thought that over all this was perfect family holiday ...

We've been spending the last weekend in August at Pendine Sands for 4 years. We had 3 vans this year and found them to be no more than average, but that's OK when you have kids with you. However the swimming pool is getting more of a let down each year. The pool closes between 12 and 1pm which is ridiculous, why can't they have a change over of lifeguards to cover the lunch time. The pool itself is getting a bit tired and grubby and the changing rooms are really filthy & smelly. This year t ...

Newly refurbished club house, with newly furnished soft play area and restaurant. Short walk into town.
From the Caravan, two minutes the club house, two minutes to the beach and two minutes to the bay. Couldn't be simpler. Although some people let the site down, the place is magnificent. Bad points, only some of the people.

Adequate as a base from which to explore but don't expect too much. Be very very specific about the accommodation you wish to book (although this is no guarantee). This is the third time we have travelled with Parkdean and on previous occasions we have been pleased with the accommodation, but not this time! It has made us very wary about booking with them again.

I have stayed at this site twice, with a further booking in July 2007, whilst the above comments do not make the site sound very good. My children thoroughly enjoy themselves here. It has easy access to a clean pebble beach and a very pretty harbour, which is good for crabbing, both of which are just across the road from the site. There is a very scenic road from West Bay to Weymouth, with breathtaking views of Chesil Beach on the way.
Whilst I would not recommend Parkdean for it's facilities, ...

Our experience at West Bay has put us off looking at any other Parkdean parks. I definitely would not recommend Parkdean Holidays West Bay Holiday Park to a friend.
