WARNING!! WARNING!! DO NOT COME HERE!! This park is a complete joke. They have the cheek to charge us extra for the service charge etc when the park is not even up to good standards. Its stuck in the middle of no where, you have to drive everywhere as the bus stop is more than a 15 minute walk away down a country road that you are more likely to get killed on before reaching the bus stop. The complete park was horrendous. We arrived at 4pm and caravan was ready, got to caravan and it... (read more)

Just returned a day early from a 4 day break with my friend and i wish i had read the reviews before we booked.we arrived and were shown to the filthiest apartment i have ever seen, the furniture was falling apart and the beds looked like camp beds, there was spiders webs everywhere and it absolutely stank, also the door leading onto the small balcony did not lock ,however when i pointed this out at reception as a security issue they said it was left unlocked incase of fire, gobsmacked or what,i... I have just returned from this holiday park with 5 other friends all in our twenties and on a budget holiday. The caravan was lovely and clean, plenty of room for all 6 of us, the pool was ok, fairly basic and a little dirty/smelly but otherwise fine. The shop was the same as any other shop on site, fairly expensive, so we avoided it mostly and went to cheaper supermarkets off site. The entertainment was fairly good, we only saw one evening and it had a good performer and comedy act. The... (read more)

We have just returned from a four night Sun holiday break at Parkdean Torquay. We read all the reviews before we went and had some apprehension but were pleasantly surprised. We were given our caravan early and had a three bed caravan for the three of us which was very large and spacious. It was impecibly clean although maybe a little tired. There were some pealing wall paper and stains on the carpets but this did not hinder our stay. I took my own duvet and pillows as I do not like to sleep... (read more)

Just came back from 4 nights here at Parkdean Torquay. I could not fault the caravan, however the location i could. We were placed down 2 ridiculously steep hills, getting anywhere on site e.g swimming pool was murder. We spent more excersise getting up the hill than actually swimming as kids too knackered. Arcade reasonably priced. The shop was very expensive. apartments needed rebuilding around 50 years ago, very grubby and poor condition. the golf was not even usable as it was a wreck.... (read more)

I resently had a holiday in Torquay with Park Dean. It was our first holiday as a family and we wanted to make the most of it. We spent 4 days here and barely spent anytime on site, because we went off site to see other places (Babbacombe Model Village, Buckfast Butterflies and Otter Sanctuary, Buckleigh Railway Museum, Kents Cavern and a few beaches). The time we did spend wasnt great, there wasnt a lot of entertainment in the day except a park and a small arcarde. The entertainment at... (read more)

My family and I have just returned from Torquay Holiday Park. The apartments were quite dated (both inside and out) but clean enough and had everything you could want. What made the holiday for us was the staff, especially the children's entertainers. Our 2 year old loved the tot-stars club in the morning where there was a variety of activities and they ensured they knew all the childrens names and made a fuss of them. My 2 older children loved both the day time starlanders club and the... (read more)

The pool was full of dead flies, The apartment block should of been knocked down years ago. There are no umbrellas if you dont want to get burnt and unlike the other parks ive been to they had outside entertainment twice in 6 nights since complaining the manager is rude and dissmisive also the customer service team are unwilling to accept how... Just returned from a long weekend break from parkdean torquay with family. Found the camp to be clean and tidy but very hilly and isolated (down a very narrow country lane) so car essential. The caravan was fine. We found the evening entertainment very good. we went half board, having stayed at the parkdean at mullion (where the food was excellent) we were disappointed with the restaurant here. There was no daily carvery as stated on the half board example menu and a plated roast dinner... (read more)

Where do I start?! I recently returned from a 4 night stay with my partner and 5 1/2 year old, at the Parkdean Torquay Holiday Park. What a total hole! On arrival the staff were friendly, but after that it completely went downhill. We eventually found our "extra wide" caravan in Vixen Tor, which was right at the bottom of the park. To get to the car park such as it was you have to go down a very steep hill, then the car park if you can call it that was very difficult to get in and... (read more)

Just returned home a day early from Parkdean Torquay which sums it up for us, we arrived to be told we were in the appartment block and lets just say we would not of let our dog sleep in that appartment. It was dated beyond belief and they put us on the top floor which was not suitable for a 3 year old. The appartment block is so dated the only suggestion i could offer them is to knock it down. We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the parkdean holiday park in Torquay. We arrived at the park and was greeted by extremely friendly staff. A good start, so we thought. We then carried on to our caravan, which was down an extremley steep hill, not so bad for us but for families with push chairs/ young children not so appropriate. We have just returned from a 3 night stay at torquay Parkdean. We were pleased with the caravan and its cleanliness given that we went for the basic option. Site was child freindly (we have a 3 year old) and had a decent play area and a large grass area in the middle of the site. Nice to have bar and shop on site, we didn't make use of entertainment but a good program was offered. Staff friendly and helpfull. I'm 17, as a young lad I enjoyed my stay with family, we went for the most 'expensive' cabin which wasn't too much money at all, my nephews seemed to enjoy the entertainment, but I did prefer going out to the beach and town and mostly used the site as a base, a car is vital though as everything seems too far a walk. What a nightmare.
Shabby caravan although stated new for 2009. Cigarette ends littered outside caravan door. Dirty utensils and dishes in caravan and no fireguard provided as standard for gas fire.
Beds small and uncomfortable, no room to swing a cat - we had a 3 bedroom caravan and there were 2 adults and 2 children aged 10 and 7 - God knows what it would have been like if there had been more of us.
Swimming pool area was diirty - dead flies, dirty and cracked tiles, broken...

I stayed at the Parkdean Holidays, Torquay Holiday Park in June. We stayed in a Riviera and found the overal cleanliness extremely poor. We tried to use the pool- but found the facilities disgusting and my young daughter cut her foot inside the pool on jagged underwater tiles.
The Patio bar was terrible- cold microwavable food and bad service. The staff appearance was poor and I expect are a reflection on how bad the park is. The hills are a nightmare- for anyone with any slight mobility...

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this dump, Torquay Holiday Park and were vey disappointed. We stayed in the Totnes apartments which are a throwback from the 1970's decor wise and smell a nasty smell! The furniture/beds are uncomfortable, the shower tray floods in less than a minute, the basin takes 20 minutes to drain and the walls/ceilings/floors are paper thin - you can hear virtually everything in the block. Just completed a four day Sun Holiday and have to totally disagree with some of the last reviews remarks. Yes the Torquay Holiday Park site is hilly but the site is very clean and the club was first class especially the childrens entertainers. Devon itself is absolutly beautiful, You do need a car to get to the beach and into the town, The rooms were basic but were clean and had everything you needed. Parkdene staff could'nt have been more helpful and did everything they could to make our holiday memorable. I would like to say thank you.

Fantastic caravan, thankfully we had central heating as it was freezing at night even in June. Caravans aren't overlooked front and back as they are on different levels, but the site has very steep hills. We felt it was too far away from anything to be without a car and the site shop was expensive. I arrived on holiday at the same time as this guest. A bit confused by her observations! £3.30 for a pint is average for the area, obviously not as cheap as Wetherspoons but the same as most of the pubs around.
A hill in Torquay... who would have thought it! Maybe some research on the area or even the park would have led to finding more suitable accommodation prehaps in Norfolk!!
Having said this... our accomodation was nice, clean and warm. We did pay for the upgrade to a centrally heated caravan and it was worth it for the time of year. The park is a little dated, but the entertainment venue is a good size and all in all we loved it!!
