My Detective Special has been excellent, for intended use. I have had it for 25 years. Other than one problem, accuracy, you could not ask for anything better. At 25 - 35 feet the rounds make a tight cluster the problem is that is about 8 - 10 inches from the aim point. Yes, I shoot from a pistol rest and have not problem with my other 7 handguns. I firmly believe that if I could only choose one of my handguns as my only personal defence weapon I would select this one. It is light and small... (read more)

This is a review of the Colt Detective Special .38 Special 2" revolver.

I have owned two Colt DS revolvers over the years. This small-to-medium sized 6-shot revolver is the ideal compromise between a tiny pocket gun and a full sized service revolver.
