Both me and my husband have cards on separate accounts and like previous people who have commented it takes a month to set up the direct debit and like them I got a late payment penalty and a £12 chargei and My husband hadn't got round to setting up a direct debit and intended to pay his amount off in full upon receipt of the bill which didn't arrive and he too has received a £12 charge and a letter stating the card has been stopped. “Great card...... Shocking Customer Service ”

A fantastic card for overseas spending I always use it when travelling abroad. My issues lie with the incompetent Bank of Ireland contact centre staff. It took them over 6 weeks to change my address. I had to log 2 complaints (a second complaint after the first complaint form was lost) Fast forward to today, a letter in the post advising me that I had incurred a £12 late payment fee. “Steer well clear!!! Jaw droppingly poor service.”

I have used many credit card providers in the past and never experienced a single problem... until I made the mistake of applying for a Post Office Platinum Credit Card. At the time of writing, I have been trying for six weeks to get them to transfer a balance to the new card. “Terrible Customer Service”

I have had a number of credit cards in my time and never had so much hassle with a company, I applied for a card and got accepted, the pin number arrived twice but the card never arrived. I rang up 3 times each time was promised it would be dispatched and never was, trying to get through to talk to someone takes ages. “Beware: a "stealth fee" for balance transfers”

Customer services isn't great but putting that aside for one moment, there is a greedy stealth fee for balance transfers. Ok, many people do it - move money around between cards to benefit from interest free periods and there is always a balance transfer fee of anything from 1.9% to 4% applied when it goes through. “Good for travel but poor interest rates”

I use mine for travel abroad and internet purchases abroad because of they do not charge extra for foreign currency transactions. Particularly good is the ability to buy foreign currency on the card at Post Offices at the standard rate of interest. The bad news is that they have hiked my interest rate from 16.9% to 19.9% over the past 15 months for no apparent reason! This card is good value if you use it abroad but is a nightmare to manage. When I came back from my trip abroad I wanted to reconcile the till receipts against the credit card records but this turned out to be enormously time consuming. Firstly, the website does not even show the amount of the transaction in the original currency (e.g. Euros) making it very difficult to match up transactions. “Poor service - don't get it!”

AVOID!!! The application process is simple, and the initial offer is attractive. However when you have a query or need assistance you will struggle to get assistance for anyone and will be passed from one person to another, all of which will be via another 0800 number and 30 minutes of time on the phone. I applied for Post Office credit card through Topcashback in the hope that I would receive £40 as a cashback which was promised 100% but after getting the credit card and being with it for four months I still have not been given the cashback simply because this post office company does not want to. As many of the reviews for PO Credit Card I agree that the customer service is terrible. A common thread in reviews is that the card is good value when used overseas however look again and see how many people say that they get extra charges. Now my gripe about PO generating income. I phoned the credit card various times just for change of address. They are just plain rude. The guy that picked the phone just kept typing and ignored me the whole time. I could tell he could hear me as he asked me for name before going quiet and kept mumbling. I cut it off and phoned again. This time thankfully the lady was responsive but very slow. “Appalling service”

I give this card one star as imhad no issues initially opening the account but that's where the positives end. Customer service is highly primitive and unhelpful. Mostly by post with a very weak website. The real problems started when I tried to change my address and they ultimately decided it was easier to cancel my card than act on my (repeat) instruction to change my home address. Their credit card online page is useless. Cannot make payment over the phone, cannot make payment through their website. I am unable to setup a direct debit over the phone, they still do it the traditional way by posting a form to fill out for direct debit. i got confirmation on feb 2012 money transferred this now june and even had letters off post office to say they are investigating and yet guess what still waiting even by there own rules this is a joke ,and never once have they even phoned or emailed to sort ,all by post so thats probably lost aswell and i will have to pay the interest on my card even with proof they have said its transferred .just pointless using this service cough cough… Read Full Review
