The Hongdou Urban DZ125 bike is okay for commuting, had some problems with leaking petrol tank as well and had to have mine replaced as well, also cdi unit failed and had to replace it, vibration on bike has caused a lot of problems and welding is terrible, cost me a lot more money to repair and wish I had invested in a Yamaha DT 125 instead, bike is still running now but rust is a problem... although bike cosmetically looks good its very temperamental

I bought the Hongdou Urban DZ125 from a good friend of mine after its original purpose was no longer needed (meant for someone else to learn on).
Build quality and parts aren't be fantastic, but for 600 quid, I believe it is well worth the money. Plenty of grunt for a 125, and they sound pretty nice under bridges/through tunnels =P
With my head down, looking like an idiot, I managed to get 70 but that REALLY pushing it. It'll sit quite happily between 50-60.

This wee Hongdou Urban DZ125 bike was fun to ride...it went everywhere and anywhere....I was a bit hesitant about buying one but then i took the plunge and bought two! One for me and one for my partner We bought them in the shipping crates and built them ourselves, after reading some of the reviews i took no chances and treated all the bolts i could find with threadlock, this worked a treat and i have had no bolts work loose. At 200 miles my partners bike quit...it just wouldn't ...

These bikes are great to learn on, top speed of 65mph. I've taken mine everywhere, long trips and short trips, road, off road, through water, over sand, up on rocks and off again. Only problem I had was that the CDI unit failed after a week, bike just cut out and wouldnt start. Also the carb clogged, but it still rode home, backfiring all the way! was easily fixed by taking apart the carb and giving it a clean.Apart from that, I love my bike and wouldnt change it for the world, it looks good, so ...

O.K. as cheap run around as a learner bike, cheap to insure but not as a second bike for experienced rider. Speed very restricted as I have only managed top speed at 45mph and everything shakes and rattles, build quality very poor, also instruction booklet is full of mistakes and not very helpful.

Have had bike a few days, built it myself and its going well, things on it tend to vibrate and I will spend some time to see if I can find out whats causing it, other than that bike seems great, very happy.

All in all the Hongdou Urban DZ125 is a real good bike for the money. Loving the sound and when you ride it feels cool.

My advise would be to avoid these poor imitations and buy a real Japanese bike!

The Hongdou Urban DZ125 is a great bike. Looks ok and runs well. The build quality is poor however. Plastics are very shaky and the stud broke in head. But after getting that repaired it is now going well. This bike is cheap to buy and to run.

Nice bike to look at but not fun to ride, very poor build quality especially the plastics.
It's badly put together, all the panels rub and rattle and the whole bike vibrates at high revs.
A Let down for some of the other good quality Chinese bikes out there.

The Urban dz125 is a pretty good bike overall it does it's job and looks good while doing it, I don't know how long they last as I have only had mine 1 month, however I have a friend with one which was made in 2004 and his is fine just a little rusty.

Getting the bike up and ready for the road isn't as easy as the people selling the bike tell you, just be ready to have some set backs if you plan on getting one, but once your over them it seems fine!

(Took me a week to get it to tick over) ...

This Hongdou Urban DZ125 looks great and is quite big for a 125. Once started up it sounds big too. I have read mixed reviews on this bike and similar ones, some saying the bike is a heap and to keep away from any Chinese bike and some saying they are fantastic and have caused next to no problems. This is my first bike and I don't know much about them - I have raised the carb screw a bit to try and keep it ticking over but with no luck - I only hope when I ride it that it's more reliable. If any ...
