    we have just arrived home after a disapointing four day break at this caravan park , our first experiance off the swimming pool was our last as the changing facilities were inadaquate and dirty , the life guards seemed to turn a blind eye to children jumping in on top of other users within the pool , there was only four changing cubicles so i would have hated to see it busy , the caravan we had hired was poorly supplied with cooking utensils so the normal cooked holiday breakfast was impossible to cook , when mentioning this to recepyion was told well things go missing over the year and cant replace every thing , the childrens play area was pathetic only a few climbing things and a pully ride and the entertainment was subject to the entertainers mood at the time after waiting for half an hour for the entertainer to turn up to be told sorry there is not enough children here to do circusskills show how dis appointing for those children that had bothered to turn up otheres on site were seasonal caravans had told us this often happens , however the town its self has an excellant liesure centre for swimming and the receptionist there told us of a circus skills couse that my children could enjoy and did thoroughly plus the park just down from the liesure centre was excellant dont judge the town by the caravan park the people in town are friendly and helpful

    Stayed at withernsea for long weekend at begining of October, I was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews but I have to say I was really pleased with the place. It was very clean the caravan (silver standard) was immaculate and smelled so clean as if nobody had ever used it and the actual site was well maintained and tidy.     Withernsea Sands holiday park....We stayed on the site camping with a family tent for 5 nights at a cost of £125 between the 8th to the 13th of August, on arrival my wife and two children were very excited, we erected our tent and started to check out the park, only to be let down by the lack of children's facilities, there was no playground with slides, swings etc, just a basket ball court that looked more like a prison exercise yard!!

    The Withernsea Sands Park Resort itself was fairly nice with a good entertainment program for children and the caravans were fair except the stain on our daughters bedding(we'd brought our own thankfully) and the missing light cover over the ceiling light. But the standard of service offered by the staff was well below standard when enquiring at reception you felt like you had intrupted them from there paperwork and mid day chat and were in no way helpful.     We have just returned from Withernsea after only lasting one night of our planned 4 night stay. The park is in the middle of a housing estate and opposite what can only be described as a static caravan graveyard. The silver caravan that we had booked was not too bad and was at least clean, however it is a shame that the same can not be said for the rest of the place.     Visited Withernsea Sands weekend 30/7/09 with touring caravan and two young grandchildren in tow, large site with plenty of pitches to choose from. Kids went off to visit the pool while we pitched the awning and set up,they were back within 15 minutes pool was packed and they were unable to enjoy it. Must be lots of people in the static caravans because the touring fields at this time were half empty.

    Good Points: The pool complex is excellent.

    We camped on the touring part of the site and it was a nightmare. Night after night drunks from the static vans shouting and bawling for hours outside the tent. We phoned security and they would come down talk to the people then leave where upon the noise would continue! The male toilets were completely trashed one night and despite being informed and coming to look, nothing was done for 12 hours! So no showers and a long trek to the other touring toi ...

    Don't beleive the bad reviews there is nothing wrong with the Withernsea Sands site. Withernsea has a nice beach but thats about it.

    I was quite worried when I read some of the other reviews on this site before we went but I had already booked it and thought I'll go and make up my own mind. The caravan( a gold )was fantastic, lovely and clean and we were in a nice corner. and it had two bathrooms, heating and even a walk in wardrobe.     The children loved the pool and the amusments and made nice friends. The staff had very little consideration for campers next to the club, emptying bottle bank at 1 in the morning! There was a very relaxed attitude to the place but so relaxed no one did any cleaning of the amenities. Some very loud foul mouthed people around with no rules to keep them in order. Enjoyed holiday because only a few days and had good company, very different to Park resorts in Heacham.

    When setting up wanted to face the pond and play area so could keep an eye on the kids, told by an attendant we had to turn van around no reason given other than thats the rules. The toilets were dirty in the swimming pool area.
    But we had a great break and would return again in low season but not at busy times as feel standards would really drop and young staff could not cope.

    We arrived here on saturday morning with our 5 year old. Got to our caravan which was meant to be a silver on entering the caravan we were attacked by spiders hanging on webs in our faces. Looked up at the ceiling which appeared to be black with spiders. We called reception to report this. 15 minutes later two cleaners with a hoover arrived and telling us that ten minutes after hoovering them away they would be back.
