I have spent at least two separate weeks a year at Withernsea Sands for the last four years and will be back for a fortnight this year. I always stay in Bronze caravan accommodation as I have dogs. There is a dog walk on the periphery of the park which is useful for late night walking. The dogs-allowed beach is probably one of the best in the country and goes on for miles, one of the main reasons I have returned each year. We stayed here early on in the year touring caravan with electric, space for awning, on arrival was given wrong pitch, after sorting this ground all churned up with mud car stuck then van stuck, did not bother with awning due to mud, 1st night electric on off then toilet block burned down, had food in pub knifes forks dirty, food horrid, site was full of travelers with scrap lorries etc 2nd day a load of 14 /15 year old traveler girls threatened our 8 year old decided to cut trip short go... like other caravan owners we picked this site as it sounded just right. how wrong the toilet block was filthy, shower door did not close nowhere to get dressed.Caravans and tents were all over. We were supposed to stay two nights but after staying up most of the night we decided to go home. We visited town before we left, nothing to see although heard the light house is good. I believe its a good resort for small children and the entertainment for them was very good. The restaurant is expensive and the food is poor. We waited over an hour for breakfast. I had egg and beans on toast, it was really greasy and unpleasant. (read more)

Would i go again NO, not much to do theres only a zip wire and a small park. Not really made much effert to say what people pay! The bar prices are shocking really mad me angry instead of charging the earth and everyone sneeking there own drinks in as i also did. Why not lower your prices?????? Just had a great midweek break camping at Withernsea Sands. We had an electric pitch (BlueBell 4) which was good. Security was helpful as at one point someone else pitched their tent about 1 FOOT from ours and they were told to move! The entertainment was good (we have kids 4 and 7) and the entertainment staff should be congratulated on their enthusiasm. The swimming pool was small but good and clean. Hello, Just came back from a weeks break here, Sun Holiday Gold Plus Caravan. We had a few minor problems The heater wasnt working in the singles bedroom, the fire took ages to light, 2 lights wernt working, no outside light. But we had a new heater fitted next morning, two light bulbs supplied, that model of static didnt have an outside light, all was ok and things where sorted, all staff polite, gas bottles checked every morning. We have stayed at several Park Resorts before and thoroughly enjoyed our breaks but this was our first and definitely last stay at Withernsea Sands over the Easter 2012 weekend. We booked 3 nights on an electric touring pitch to have power cuts off and on all our second day which was great given we had a six month old son with us and no heating, kettle, fridge etc. There was no organisation on the touring site, the pitches were all uneven, caravans were parked all over the place and in no... we stayed in a bronze caravan as we took our dog, it was modern and very clean. Beds made with nice crisp White bedding. Main complex very clean, reception staff very polite and always spoke. My family stayed here 19/09/11 for a mid week break, when we got to the caravan it was dirty and the but you bed was rusty and the fire not working it was dull has we paid for a Silver Plus we ask for a move and we was told the camp was full it as september and no one was there it was empty. We put a complaint in when we got home and all the managment have done is lied they have never taken the blame whote to us and said they offered us a move I have spent from sep until now jan complaining... We booked withernsea sands holiday park after conducting a search for holidays that accept pets. We booked a bronze caravan for a week, this being the stadard for pet owners. It was great, and i can confirm just because it was a bronze rated van did not mean it was held together with gaffa tape. This is somebodys holiday home and it was looked after. I read the reviews before we went and was a bit alarmed, I thought it was just a bunch of whingers who had a bad time. I've been camping for years and never had a bad experience. To avoid having a bad experience, dont go to Withernsea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The site was clean and tidy and well presented. However - you need to feel safe on holiday and we didn't. MMm, well Withernsea is renowned for being the council estate by the sea! Dead end place with dead end people. I can't comment on the site as I haven't been ... but Withernsea? Avoid like the plague unless you fit in to the demographic!

Our first impressions of when we arrived were very good. The place was spotless! Very easy check-in reception staff were very helpful and showed us on a map of where we were staying. When we got to the caravan one of the doors did not unlock so we had to use the other door. When we got in it was spotless apart from the shower, it was a bit grubby. Stayed here twice and going again next week. It's a very relaxing park, we stayed in 'Gold' accommodation both times, very clean with all 'mod cons'. Staff were friendly. All amenities were kept very clean and the site overall was very neat and tidy. My 8 year old daughter loved the pool and the playground. There's not much to see in Withernsea itself but if you have transport, Spurn is a lovely place to visit and Hull isn't far away for 'The Deep' and museums etc. As for Withernsea beach,... I must say that I couldn't really rate the quality of food on site as we didn't eat in the restaurant while we were staying at Withernsea Parks Resort.
Before going I read a lot of the reviews on this site and others and was a little bit concerned about what I would find. What I found was the opposite of the negative reviews.
The park is clean and well looked after with a 2 play areas for the children - one of which is enclosed so you can relax while you watch the little ones run around....

having read these reviews on here i weas pleasantly surprised! we went on the sun holiday promotion and should have had a 2 bed bronze caravan. on arrival we found theyd given us a 3 bedroom silver at no extra cost! clean and spacious. food in the restaurant was nice and there was a good choice.withernsea itself is small with not much to do but we drove into hull instead.the club on site was only small with a very small dancefloor. the staff were friendly enough. nice enough but not ideal... iam just back from here and neer again. The park is really big but the entertainment complex is just not big enough to accomodate this.
The staff were not very helpful and itr is the first time that i have been with Park Resorts but but never agai, you are better going with Parkdean.
The swiiming pool is a joke, they let people in and the showers are all in full frontal of the pool and there are three changing rooms which are a joke. There is no privacy and no where to dry your hair or...

After reading the reviews we nearly never went, but im glad i did 2 night,s camping for 15 pounds! dont know what some people expect!. we pitched up right outside the main enterance and found the staff very helpfull. The toilets and showers where clean. PARK RESORTS Withernsea Sands. Would be better off missing out the "Sands" bit as it certainly wasn't there. It was a five minute walk (over a derelict caravan park which was like something out of a horror film) to cliff tops with stones for a beach, not a grain of sand in sight.
The caravan it's self was clean (we payed extra for a gold though).

Two of my friends, a partner and our two young girls went here for a couple of nights camping here. The park it's self is pretty much what you'd expect from any bog standard camp site.

The camping pitches where poorly lit with dangerous surfaces where the ground had split open leaving large cracks that with no lighting offered a major health risk . 3 showers for a large camp site was woefully inadequate and cold showering was the norm. This is the worst site I have ever stayed on, and not a patch on Haven sites, although similar price. A very pleasant site with good facilities. A short walk to the beach with stunning views.
The beach is clean, but stoney.
The park itself is situated within easy walk to the town and is in a quiet location.
Although we found the staff to be unhelpful and they appeared to be too busy to be bothered with you!
The food in the restaurant is good and the prices are reasonable, but again the staff were not helpful and treated their customers as if there were a complete inconvenience!!!

I booked my holiday then read the reviews for Withernsea Sands. I almost cancelled and rebooked elsewhere but then thought I would give them a chance. Well it was certainly not half as bad as the other reviews on here.

Withernsea sands (Park resorts) is by far the worst holiday park we have ever stayed at. The caravan was dirty on arrival, the fridge was broken, the hoover was broken, door knobs came off in our hands and overall it was not worth the money we paid. We had a silver plus caravan but it was more like a broken, battered bronze from the 1980s.
The site it self was quite pleasant apart from the dog poo scattered around the whole camp and swearing adults.

The current entertainment team there do a brilliant job, the security team are great, & the facilities are very adequate. I just wanted to say that my family and I (myself partner and 4 young kids ) were on holiday at the same park at the same time and had a very different holiday. We arrived on the 10/4/10 for a 7 night holiday and were greeted with a smile. Been a small park it did have only 3 entertainment staff but we found them all very friendly and our kids loved them. Yes kids were asked to keep off the stage (because of health and safety), and they did ask for quite during bingo games so that people at the back could hear and they could be heard. The 3 staff worked from breakfast till late, doing kids clubs during the day and entrainment in the evening.
<br/>We also went in the pool every day while on holiday and never once got turned away. I can see why they would keep numbers down as it is a small pool but never got turned away the lifeguard would get balls and things out for the kids to play with. Over all a very happy holiday and have booked to go back all ready. I feel sorry that the oraginal writer didnt have the same exprance as we did

I have visited withernsea sands for 2 consecutive years. fortunately I didn't read this site before attending the first time. I love the location it a great base for exploring spurn point (breathtaking) and hornsea, skipsea, etc. The beach at withernsea is in easy walking distance, withernsea centre is a half hour walk along the beach. (lots of steps)
The bronze caravan was clean and pleasant. The gold was beautiful. We didn't have any noise problems and we would have known about it because...

Following a recent incident at withernsea sands resort i cannot commend the staff and management highly enough,The management have clearly reached a decision to promote a zero tolerance approach to anti social behaviour on the site ensuring enjoyable holidays can be enjoyed by all.My own personal findings were,Touring wardens helpful at all times security staff courtious and professional and the management ameniable and available at all times.GREAT STAFF GREAT SITE HAPPY KIDS. Recent incident was my wife and sons been woken and attacked by drunks in the night. The management idea of a zero tolerance approach to anti social behaviour is to throw the victims of site.

Assault witnessed by a dozen people including two staff but they were ignored because manager already made his decision and too arrogant to admit his mistake. And some of the thugs were gypsies.

They latter claimed that my wife was drunk and violent. My wife has been tea total for years and cannot drink with her medication anyway. I worked for Withernsea Park Resorts and know how the place is run. There is no authority as most of the staff members employ friends so the jobs are not done to a satisfactory standard.Very bad attittudes.Very ignorant!!! And whom i wouldnt personally allow to clean my toilet. (there is a minoroty of people there who do have standards and do a very good job.)Whilst i was there on many occasions they left the bedding on after the first caravaners had stayed...

Stayed at withernsea for long weekend at begining of October, I was a bit dubious after reading some of the reviews but I have to say I was really pleased with the place. It was very clean the caravan (silver standard) was immaculate and smelled so clean as if nobody had ever used it and the actual site was well maintained and tidy. Withernsea Sands holiday park....We stayed on the site camping with a family tent for 5 nights at a cost of £125 between the 8th to the 13th of August, on arrival my wife and two children were very excited, we erected our tent and started to check out the park, only to be let down by the lack of children's facilities, there was no playground with slides, swings etc, just a basket ball court that looked more like a prison exercise yard!!

We have just returned from Withernsea after only lasting one night of our planned 4 night stay. The park is in the middle of a housing estate and opposite what can only be described as a static caravan graveyard. The silver caravan that we had booked was not too bad and was at least clean, however it is a shame that the same can not be said for the rest of the place. Within 10 mins of arriving my son had stepped in dog dirt and we found the place was covered in the stuff. The area around... (read more)

Visited Withernsea Sands weekend 30/7/09 with touring caravan and two young grandchildren in tow, large site with plenty of pitches to choose from. Kids went off to visit the pool while we pitched the awning and set up,they were back within 15 minutes pool was packed and they were unable to enjoy it. Must be lots of people in the static caravans because the touring fields at this time were half empty.
Next was to visit the toilets and to say they were poor would be a great understatement,...

Good Points: The pool complex is excellent.
We camped on the touring part of the site and it was a nightmare. Night after night drunks from the static vans shouting and bawling for hours outside the tent. We phoned security and they would come down talk to the people then leave where upon the noise would continue! The male toilets were completely trashed one night and despite being informed and coming to look, nothing was done for 12 hours! So no showers and a long trek to the other touring...
