My wife and I took Virgin Travel (Medical) Insurance to cover an extended trip to the USA. My wife fell very ill from a stomach infection. Because the infection and bacteria causing it was difficult to locate she required several visits to Emergency Medical Clinics and finally a speciality doctor. While the local people at Allianz Global Assistance in the USA were very helpful in locating medical clinics and doctors, when it came time to submit our claim for reimbursement back in Australia… Read Full Review

Our luggage has been stolen from our car boot nearly 6 months ago,i send them all the information through to post and emails.But still asking same informations and they are putting you as a lianing to them but thanks god i have got all proff of my replyies to their AMAZING quastions.Our claim now on Ombudsman Service there is no chance to sort it out personally,Keep all your receipts,bookings,bagagge tags even your underwear receipts and take copy of anything you send to them… Read Full Review

Very bad experience. I had my bags stolen and they dont want to give me the money back for it ,finding silly explanations that it was left unattended after 10pm when we left a car for 5 min and it was maybe 50meters far from us. We have nearly same issue. We are in same position. Already 6 months have passed. But we cannot come to solution. Just a headache. Dont take virgin travel insurance...

“Useless”

Took out Virgin winter-sports insurance. Had an accident on the second day with torn knee ligaments the result. Could not snowboard for the rest of the holiday and on return to the UK submitted all necessary paperwork: doctor's bills, medication receipts, X-Rays all that they asked for, including the receipts for my ski-pass, etc. 

Have just received email to say they will not pay anything at all. From my original description of the accident it was clear that there was no third party

In August 2013 I purchased a year’s ‘Virgin Insurance’ with winter sport cover included, as I had booked a winter ski holiday and a summer holiday. Purchased insurance for $187 for family to travel to Japan. Our flight was cancelled by airline due to engineering requirements. Due to this I lost 1 night accommodation in Tokyo at a cost of $560. “Absolute lifesavers in a stressful situation”

My daughter was stuck in a hospital in Cambodia, without enough cash to pay her bill. Despite the fact that she had not gone to a Virgin recommended hospital, the staff at Virgin were amazing. “Stay well clear of these people”

I have a policy that covers all my business equipment with Virgin Money and specific diabetic medical cover. Everything is great until you need to claim, left my shoulder bag in a restaurant in Dubai on a business trip late one evening. wasn't able to retrieve it as I was on a 6am flight out. I found their documents misleading - I thought that I was covered for missed departure under essentials travel insurance but was told that this isn't the case. I purchased the Virgin single holiday travel insurance Essentials 1 cover for £14.45 for a family trip to Turkey. Unfortunately our apartment was burgled whilst we were out. They took our ipad, ipod and £300 cash. We had a detailed police report and all our receipts. At appears that Virgin insurance doesn't cover the cost of these essential items. I will never use this company again for purchasing travel insurance. Recently bought a policy online for a single family trip to Tenerife. Purchased the policy on the basis of cost and the excess, which was advertised as being "max £100". Had to cancel the holiday due to my husband having an operation for a blood clot in his leg and when the cheque arrived for settlement of the claim, they had deducted £100 excess per person. Daughter had stolen/lost her specially insured iphone in Cambodia. Virgin won't pay up until all ORIGINAL documents are given to it, that is: signed claim form, flight documents to show she is travelling, police report etc etc. No copies, no scans, originals only So basically you have to do it on your return, then they take around 5 working days to review, and another 5 working days to bother sending a cheque...
