I recently went to the Philippines as I did loads of research before I booked one of my flights with Cebu Pacific. I have to admit, I read all the reviews on here, and felt like I shouldn't book any of my flights with them. I was taking a total of 5 flights, 4 of which I booked with Philippine Airlines. Here is my experience with Cebu Pacific. The first time I flew with them was a trip from Hong Kong to Boracay. They didn't let me board the airplane because they said I didn't have a return flight from Boracay. I had a future dated flight from Bali to Seoul so how would it be possible for me to not leave Boracay? The second bad experience I had was when flying from Boracay to Singapore. Thank you Cebu Pacific for making it one of the worst experiences of our lives. All (6) of were unable to board the because you not overbooked the flight, but also refused to provide a refund. How could take our money like that? Who does that? What made us upset was that your reps at the counter made no effort to TRY to help us except smile and say "sorry", like a robot. Oh they did offer a flight for tomorrow but we would have to pay for that one. And where would we sleep overnight?... (read more)

Our luggage was seriously damaged, the suitcase can no longer be used. We claimed the case on arrival and were told within max. 3 working days we would receive a notification. After three weeks and several phone calls initiated from our side there is still no confirmation. There is no contact at all from airline side, the phone number from guest services given to us can never be reached, simply no replies. After taking several flights with Cebu Pacific over the last couple of months where Cebu Pacific was my only option (Manila-Naga) I can say that if you have any other choice - take it. poor ticketing system, web admin is terrible. customer service is terrible. It really is a poorly run airline that obviously only cares about bleeding you for every cent they can and giving you very little in return. (read more)

I book a flight for nov 28 2012 and i didnt check the itinerary they send to the email add, 5 days later when i wanted to print my itinerary i learn that the flight date had been change to dec 28 2012. I just filed a complaint through their email today but a response will only be serve 7 days later. They also denied having glitches on their system when I clearly experience one when I book another flight. I'm also confuse why they cant allow cancellation of promo bookings to consumers... I am frequent and loyal passenger of Cebu Pacific but what happened last at MCIAA Cebu Pacific check in desk without baggage last October 20 @ 7:40 am is a very big disappointment. Check in desk crew don't know how to handle passengers who came late because of unavoided circumstances. Cebu Pacific (CEBU/MACTAN) Ground Crew should know what is the the check-in baggage limitations, they have to be strict in implementing these rules. It happens to us. We were in a group web check-in. As what I understand WEB check-in is faster than the normal check-in. Avoiding the hassle of queuing up. But it resulted to the same way. In Singapore it so much better faster and so efficient web check-in. Our check-in paid baggage is total 45kg for 3 pax, but our baggage is total 47kg. As what... (read more)

For the second time, i lost a fare for my wife because another airlines flight was late and she missed the Cebu Pathetic connecting flight. It was a typhoon at the time and probably the only time ever, the Cebu Pacific flight took off nearly on time. Had to buy a new ticket with PAL. The Cebu Pathetic hotline staff had me holding on the phone nearly half an hour and then came back and put the phone down. Cheap and rubbish. Fly PAL, not the best but 1,000 times better than Cebu Pathetic. (read more)

On Dec 30, 2011, my family flew on Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 915 from Manila to Caticlan to go to Boracay for New Years. My wife and I were seated in Row number 1 directly behind the cock pit. CEB is just a good budget airline other than that is none. Our flight going to tuguegarao took 2 more hours because the plane needs to get back to manila airport due to technical problems. Are they not checking their plane before they take-off? Im glad were safe though. I fly a lot and dont know how to discourage ANYONE in fact to take this airline if you could name it that way . I had a flight on September 9 from Coron (Busuanga), Palawan to Manila, Philippines. This was our return flight after a three-day vacation in the islands. The flight was scheduled to take off 2:10PM. It was past 2:10PM when they announced that the flight was delayed to 2:40PM. I love booking with Cebu Pacific. First off, they allowed payments thru bank transfer. Secondly, I always enjoy their games. However, the flight stewards sometimes give the prizes to the wrong persons. Why? The ones who were asking the trivia question are usually not that attentive as to who really raised their hands first. Cebu Pac is the worst!!! I booked my cousin (who is only around 10y/o) last March. Paid 3090 for it through Bancnet online. The following day, when i still have not received feedback from them, i called their office and that's when i learned that the booking i made was not confirmed. When you cancel a flight with Cebu Pacific they credit you with a "travel fund", after deducting more than 50% of the flight costs in various fees. To use this fund is almost impossible and requires that you make a booking by phone. I attempted this in February but they failed to credit my travel fund against my new flight. One of the worst major airlines in the world (which I have travelled around). At the time of writing we have caught 2 out of the 6 flights we have booked, and major issues have arisen already. Here's our issues with the last flight

It is almost the way I reviewed PAL. Not good but also not bad. There were not much entertainment but we had fun games. The food is not free but it is also very delicous. Seats are fine. And landing is smooth. (read more)

Our flight was on time unlike PAL flights. When we boarded, the flight attendants were smiling. Service was good. Though there was no free meals considering its a budget airline. The Airplane was new and clean. We arrived 30 ahead of ETA. Cebu Pacific is a nice airline. (read more)

They cancelled my flight Macau-Manila due to aircraft situation. We booked the flights 3 months prior our travel dates to avail the promo and have the earliest reservations. Now due to change booking we will spend more. To add, the Macau-Manila is still available via their website if there has been aircraft problem they should have deleted this from their system to avoid confusions with their clients. Cebu Pacific is horrible! You get less than what you pay for in terms of service and personal relations. My family has been a costumer for Cebu Pacific for 5 years and from the second year up to this year we experienced ridiculous treatment from Cebu Pacific. On the second year we purchased Cebu Pacific a crew member (stewardess) shoved our fragile baggage into the compartment when we asked her to gently lift it into the compartment. Was quite nervous of using Cebu Pacific having read several negative reviews of them, And I'm very glad I did "have" to go through them as, from my experience, they were excellent!
For starters, they cost about 120,000KRW per person less than the other carriers for the return fare. You are unable to book their Korean flights through the website (which may have been a blessing as this seems to be where lots of the complaints arise!), but... (read more)

I would not recommend Cebu Pacific. I have been waiting now for 10 months and still no refund. I have complained by phone, I have used the guest response facility on the CP website and automatically received case numbers with the comment that someone will respond after seven days - forget it, they need a reminder after one month! Never pay on their website with an international creditcard, even if it says, they accept. I had the experience 5 times (stupid I was). I always tried again and again because first it accept it. It even send the valid itinerary to your email. But after a week or so (not the same), a simple email come in and says, the payment is suspicious and you must pay again. I can not describe, how angry I am already.

Cebu Pacific is a budget airline, sort of like the Ryanair of Asia, or at least, that's what it would like to be. However, their online booking system is a nightmare. It constantly times out and requires one to re-enter information. It is not well set up for entering addresses not in the Philippines and claims there is a problem with the address even if there isn't one. The booking process will take about two hours with all the timeouts.

Cheap flights. They don't seem to care about customer comments, they have a website that promises they will reply to you in 7 days ....I been waiting for 3 weeks from my numerous emails ....still without a reply from them...tried to call them the call center thats not have a clue on how to deal with customers. In my previous flight Cebu Pacific changed my flight 4 times, delayed 6 hours. When I finally arrived I found out my baggage was missing and they didnt admit that it was lost until the conveyor belt stopped and there were lots of unclaimed bags and a lot of people who didnt get their bags. I'd be wary of booking with budget airlines like Cebu Pacific because I've found that in exchange for low cost fares is poor service - or in some cases, no service at all! Cebu Pacific put us through hell! My groom and I along with more than half of our 120 something guests for our Boracay wedding found out about our cancelled flights to and from Caticlan on the day of our scheduled flights. Probably no good points. Late 95% of the time for Lao-Mnl v v. flights.
Messy PH airports.
No notification for being late, guess it's normal for them for being late.
No ticketing office at their destinations. Very difficult to process a ticket especially for cancelling, rebooking.
Super expensive penalties.
You want cheap? fly CEB. Don't expect an airline standard service.
You want flexibility - take the bus. (read more)

Definitely don't fly with Cebu Pacific if you want a guaranteed on time departure and basic standards of customer care.
We checked in at the Singapore terminal for a Midnight flight to Cebu on 25th December. At the check-in we were told the departure is delayed until 0230 which was no problem.
