    Good Points: The machine washes well


    Bad Points: The racks could be better designed.
    The machine broke down after 18 months


    General comments: My Hotpoint BF72 broke down after 18 months. On average, it was used about twice a week during this time. Despite the Hotpoint website promises, aftersales service/support has been virtually non - existant.T hey have very few engineers - it requires 7 to 14 days to get an engineer to visit; our machine has been broken down since 14.02.04 and we are still waiting for a part to come from Italy, no delivery date is available & Hotpoint service centre will not chase it up!
    Our machine is covered with Hotpoint's extended warranty through Domestic & General insurers. This was a mistake; had we not taken out this warranty, Hotpoint would have given us a replacement machine by now. So beware and take note of reliability figures produced by Which? magazine.
