Good Points: The acting. Without a doubt some of the most superb and believable stage acting I have ever seen. Daniel Radcliffe is remarkable--his ability to be completely vulnerable and tormented is both disturbing and profoundly moving. Richard Griffiths--an English theater legend--delivers an impeccable performance. He was wholly convincing and incredibly real.
General comments: "Equus" is a dark, deep, penetrating account of what happens when one cannot accept society's mandated "norms" and the lengths to which people are forced to go in order to fit in. The play addresses more perplexing issues of religion, psycho-emotional release, and the desire each individual has to be himself. I highly recommend seeing this piece. It will leave you shaken and stirred. But you'll be better off for it.
