All i can see is that Goldtrail are a bunch of theiving B******s. My partner and I booked a cheap last minute deal on the 15th of July at 5pm, by the 16th of July they announced that had gone bust. Surely somebody would have known that the company was about to go bust! And yet they still happy took our money. Unfortunately those responsible have disapeared and suffered no consequence. Claims are taking an unexceptable time to be returned and no timescales are now being offered, despite the initial time scale of six weeks.

i booked a week in zante for 25th july for myself, husband and 3 yr old grandson with co-oprative travel a good company i thought but no they then booked us onto goldrail.it took 5 days for them to contact me and then that was to just try and sell me another holiday at a cost of another £1200.00.As far as i am concerned my the money taken from my bank account was paid to co-op so they are responsible i never even heard of goldtrail,co-op do not want to know and say its not down to them and will send out a claim form for the CAA.

Well it came as no shock to travel agencies all over the UK so why didn't the CAA see anything untoward.
How can any company give 14 day holidays to all inclusive hotels (even though they were rubbish places they still have to pay bills) for £150 pp in May for 14 nights and make money.
This was a company that was going under big time but still no one stepped in to stop them taking the publics money just hours and probably minutes before it went bust.
No doubt the fat cats are on their yacht getting ready to open the new cheap holiday company that will spring up in the next few months.
Besides the poor people not getting a holiday this year now what about the hotel owners in Turkey and Greece who had probably not been paid for last years guests so they too will probably now go to the wall.
As said in another review you get what you pay for.

they sold me a flight that did not exist and 2 weeks before the holiday moved us to an earlier flight.i spent 48 minutes on the phone trying to find out what had happened. i reported it to trading standards, but off course goldtrail have gone bust .i booked through airflights who passed it on. i think airflights should check what they are selling.there will be people going on holiday unaware that their booking has been made with goldtrail.i feel really sorry for these people.

Look folks...its the old adage proving true. You pay peanuts you get Monkeys. Goldtrail used cheap accommodation in their chosen resorts and put very little into any form of customer service. To even book with them in the first place was bordering on niave. There is a very good reason the likes to Thomsons and Thomas Cook are strong brands.....they invest and grow their businesses and do not run them like a cornershop.

Best of luck to those of you claiming refunds etc. They will come through eventually but please dont expect anything soon.

I have worked in the Travel Industry for over 17 years and would advise anyone booking through a holiday online to thoroughly vet the operator's reliance and overall history.

Booked to go to Turkey in October. Goldtrail gone bust. Still unable to get in touch with anyone. At the moment I am fifty one on the phone, being trying since sat.Can not afford to booked another holiday it has taken us all year to save for this.

I have booked a holiday that i have saved all year for. im only 19 and on a minimum wage income. i was meant to fly out in 2 days time, with mu case packed and all ready to go i was told goldtrail are now bank rupt!! if i do not get a full refund within the next week or so. im suing for the mental stress ive had to endure. never mind the inconvenience.

I went to Turkey at the Halici hotel with goldtrail last week. On the second day I got extreamly sick (cough, fever, pain, cold). I have read there were some cases on numonia from bacteria in the shower that Goltrail was liable for in the past.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Booked in may through icelolly who went through yourholidays which then was with goldtrail ,Found this out after i had booked so looked at all the reviews and got so worried by them all
Kept reading them all on a daily basis and was horrified what people were saying, we were supposed to go on the 11th August to rhodes we get married at 11oclock on the 11th and august and were going to fly out to rhodes at 16:50 the same day
I Then found out they had gone bust ,Luckily we have managed to book anthor holiday due to a family member helping us out afterall this is our honeymoon, but this is not the point there is people out there who have saved all year round to go on this holiday to find out they no longer can go and may have to wait months for a full refund ,I am so angry at goldtrail i hope they never ever start to trade again ,I will no longer book a holiday online i will always go into a travel agent in person and would rather pay that little bit extra to go with a decent company ,We have now booked anthor holiday to rhodes for pretty much the same price we paid but we are still £650 down and god know swhen we will see this money again

I wish i had gone with first chioce to start with, dont no when i will get my money back, but i did check out the so called 3 star hotel i was to go with with gold trail. From what info i got it only had 2 stars my wife recons it would have been a bad holiday.

I also think they have been taking peoples money knowing they were giong bust.
What they have done is non aceptable and they should realy be looking into the top boses of the company who have been taking peoples money. leaving some famalies in distress.

This should be a court case for defo in my opinion im not that bothered about the holiday i have missed on with them, but my heart geos out to the families with children, its just not right and a full investigation should be done into what has happened

This company amazes me! They have clearly showed ongoing negligence of customers' basic needs, and with their current demise and stranding of customers, their misrepresentation of themselves appears to be a top-notch scam. I am surprised their is no focus in the media on who was running this show, and I am shocked nobody in the blogosphere is attempting to locate a means to contact the erstwhile operators so people can at least send a message of frustration to those who have caused so much heartache. Perhaps they've disappeared in the middle of the night, but the media isn't even attempting to report that much. Anyone know why nothing is being said about the owners?

We have used goldtrail for 8 years its was cheap Get want you pay for. In june 2008 we travelled to Dalaman had to pay extra for room on last night only had 6 nights booked had to e-mail them when we got back for refund NEVER happen that was the last time we used them

My family and I used Goldtrail to go to Turkey for a holiday about 3 years ago. It was so horrendously bad and Goldtrail was so disgustingly poor we paid for flights and were back in the UK within 24 hours of leaving. We sued Goldtrail and 18 months later having had to fight every step of the way were in court and won big time. Then we reported it all on every web site we could find just like thousands of other people. Goldtrail even appeared on the BBC Watchdog program and were slated throughout and gave a poor account of themselves.
Although we have sympathy with anybody who is out of pocket because of this company going bust we simply cannot understand why anybody still booked with them as Goldtrail are slated all over the web.
Goldtrail going bust has to be the best news I've had in months but I do wonder why organisations such as ABTA who are there to help protect the public didn't do anything towards shutting them down or warning people.
Oh and just in case anybody was wondering, we asked for arbitration through ABTA who bonded Goldtrail. Nothing happened as Goltrail simply refused to involve them.
As much use as a chocolate fireguard!

Goldtrail cheats people, operated on a wing & a Prayer, pays the hotels £1 per room per night............you think your gonna get luxury?????? wise up!

They leased the hotels under the so called "Litera group" which no other reputable tour operator would set foot in, or had pulled out years ago due to substandard Health & safety, bla bla bla...........

Spare a thought for the poor hoteliers that havent been paid a bean from them for years or the bar / restaurant owners who have paid extortionate amounts of £££££ to them for their none existant advertising & recommending.

I've booked a family holiday to Kos starting on the 1st of August through Low Cost Holidays ( a booking agent for Goldtrail ) and i'd like to thank them for ruining my families summer holiday. I can't afford to book other flights so I lose my appartment booking and I could have wait up to 2 years to see any of my flight money back according to the nice people at the C
